Hey beauties,
I have another issue ( i have a lot of these )
>.<
i don't know what i'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get my everyday makeup right!
Especially the concealer it just comes out so wrong and looks so obvious that i am wearing concealer , i have really dark circles that need maximum coverage :( i've read so much about how to apply etc but I still get the same crappy result! And another thing i can never get that natural look :/ HELPPPPP!

What makes the concealer obvious.. the colour or the texture?

For the dark spots, I would try using a salmon underneath your foundation. For any reddness, I hear that the Loreal Studio Secrets primer in green is good, buuuut they test on animals (is thats something you care about). And for covering spots on top of your foundation (as well as for under eyes), I would suggest you use a pot concealer with a blending brush rather than a concealer brush, if you don't all ready do that.

Hi Mandy - I use a stipple, using a stipple brush (E.L.F) to apply my foundation. I've heard of glamouflage , it's had some good reviews will see if I can get that! Thanks for that going to check your vid out ^_^

Tamara - It's the colour i think , i think my concealer is too creamy though

Arie - Hmmm any concealer brands you could reccomend? for salmon tone?Thankfully I don't get any redness. I use benefit Boing at the moment + collection 2000 lasting perfection. They do the job but when it comes to my under eye circles it is a nightmare! I used to apply concealer undr my foundation but recently after a friend told me to put it on top i've been doing that. x

It may be a matter of the wrong shade or undertone then. There are plenty of brands that I need to mix or just avoid because they don't cater to my skin tone/undertone.

Also consider colour correcting as well, cancelling out the discolouration usually means you'll use less. With concealer, less is more. Building up thin layers can give you a better result than more in a single go.

Hard Candy has a color correcting concealer, and I believe ELF might too. If you ever have the budget to splurge, Smashbox has great color correcting concealers.

The brands Arie mentioned are a good place to start, and I think that there is a generic (BH Cosmetics, CS, Ebay..etc) colour correct palette available online too. You can also look for concealer in shades that lean a particular way, rather than a separate product. For example, I usually need a touch of olive and yellow undertones in my foundation, but I use a pink/peach concealer for under my eyes. I haven't been using a separate colour corrector, just a bit of colour theory in my shade choices.

If you can speak to someone, whether you just stop by a counter to ask questions or your local shop has someone that works in the cosmetics department - just ask them, they should be able to help out.
