Kind of super self-explanatory. :P I've looked forever for a pure red eyeshadow that isn't expensive, in a drugstore, not a department store. Anyone have any suggestions?

OooOooOh! That's a TOUGH one! I would suggest NYX, but that's more orangey-red, and if you're looking for a fire-engine red or something w/ blue undertones, you're better off looking for a pro-product.
If you can't find one, you can always revert to blushes as an eyeshadow. Hope that helps! =)

Wet 'n' Wild's Fantasy Makers had a red shadow however it was a Halloween and limited edition item. They also made Night Elf which was a winter and LE item. Right now the best bet for a red is with Jesse's Girl. It's available at RiteAid.

Wet 'n' Wild is sold in Canada but it's hard to find. Jesse's Girl... no idea if it's sold in Canada.

You're rarely going to find a drugstore eyeshadow that is red. Only one I can think of is NYX... I think it's Cherry? My sister would just buy a red blush and use it as an eyeshadow. lol

That's a tough one I spent forever trying to do the same... WetNWild had a matte vibrant red in their holiday palette... I haven't bought from this company however they DO have the Wet n Wild VAMP duo shadow from the WnW 2010 Fantasy Makers line. I know for a FACT that the red is VERY pigmented (see my daughter's picture of her Halloween makeup using it).

I found this suggestion online: If you are unable to get a hold of red eye shadow, why not try using a lip colour pencil like an eyeliner, or even some lipstick? I have experimented with lip colour pencil before, and it can give a very nice effect. With the lipstick, you could use a lip brush, or cotton bud / q-tip) and apply some on-to your eyelids, and then blend it in to get the desired effect. To make it matte, rather than shiny, you can then pat over the top of it some translucent powder.

I have to add a warning to what Jane wrote above. Unless you know what is in that lipstick or lip pencil be VERY careful in using a red on your eye. Not all red dyes are eye safe.

I actually have been trying red eyeliners, but setting it with a translucent powder I hadn't thought of. I've been using neon pink. You're brilliant! :D And I'll try to get to a hot topic, though the only one is a bit far. Canada only has, I believe, 2 Hot Topics. And damn right the stupid strike. It really sucks, guys. :c
