So I'm new to Beautylish but I'm already in love with it. Giving reviews, reading reviews, looking at pictures, watching tutorials, I love that it's all conveniently located on one site. I wish I discovered it sooner. But anyways, I'm only 16 and I've been obsessed with makeup for about a year and a half or so now. I definitely have a passion for it and I don't have a lot yet but it makes me really happy talking and learning new things about it and buying more and when I see, for example, that my friends have like 1 or 2 eyeliners when I have like 14. It's kind of hard though because being a teenager that doesn't work, I barely ever get money to spend on such things as makeup because you need it to go out with your friends or whatever too. So I was just wondering, how did you guys start out? How did you start collecting and what did you start with? Where are you now? Tell me your story :]

Hey there..I'm new and 16 too :) I can say that I've been experimenting around with makeup for about 3 and a half years or so... Anyways. I first started with the basics-eyeliner, concealer, facial stuff, and getting better brushes. I don't have much experience with foundation since I don't need any. Right now, I have a wider range of makeup, adding on to my collection as I find better makeup. I recently started a Youtube channel (aff0rdablebeauty) but I haven't had time to make a video yet so be sure to check me out soon! I plan on making videos on inexpensive and high quality beauty products that work as good as the expensive brands out there. If you want more tips, be sure to subscribe and show some support for me! Thanks :)

I'm 20 years old with Asperger Syndrome and my dream is to teach everyone and anyone that disabled kids can do whatever they want and that they can pretty much do what everyone else does, but just in a different way.
My 2 passions are music and makeup. So I decided to use both of them and make Youtube videos to help spread the word and educate the world about Asperger Syndrome. I am currently in the studio working on my first demo CD and I want to be a motivational speaker as another way to get my singing talent out there and educate people about Asperger Syndrome. I'm currently in school for Makeup Artistry and I will be doing that as a job on the side.
If you want to know more about me and what Asperger Syndrome is I suggest you check out my Youtube channel to learn more. Here is the link,

Hey, welcome to beautylish! I started really getting into make up when I was 16 (I'm 18 now), and a lot of my make up were presents! For my 17th birthday my mom bought me four MAC eyeshadows. And then, I got to go to Chicago with my school, and my mom always made sure she gave me enough money to where I could buy a couple eyeshadows from the MAC there. For Christmas, I got the Alice in Wonderland Urban Decay palette. Those are really the only expensive bits of make up I own (other than my eyeshadow primers). The rest of it is really just saving up money, and buying cheaper make up! I would check out brands like Hard Candy, and Wet'N'Wild because they have great eyeshadows (and other stuff) for great prices. I also really like Maybelline and Revlon.
I started playing around with dollar store pigments (the LA Colors ones), and tried to recreate looks that I'd seen Panacea81 and xSparkage do. It took me a long time to really understand the whole blending thing, and normally I would end up blending them to the point where they made a weird silver-gray color. I also apparently didn't understand the whole highlight under the brow bone and would blend the colors clear up to my eyebrow. XD lol!
I have completed one year of Cosmetology school, but I had to quit because of some personal stuff. I'm planning on going back, however I think I may switch to an esthetician course, because while I find hair to be fun, I really don't care all the much about it! haha!

I remember when I first bought makeup, I would start mostly with lip glosses and then I bought 2 colossal mascaras and it just went on from there, now i cant stop buying makeup! everyone thinks its weird except my best friend who buys a bunch of makeup too. We always buy makeup especially if its on sale or a good deal, we even go to the dollar store!

i got started with makeup back in 2008 i was 22. one day my older sister told me that my eyeshadow looked like i did it with my fingers. then she introduced me to youtube. queenofblending was the first person i watched and after that i was hooked. i started practicing on myself and buying more so i could get better and i found out i had a love for it. its been almost 3 years since i started wearing makeup and i can't get enough of it. so i would like to thank my sister for introducing me to the wonderful world of makeup.
