I first saw pointed nails on a Hungarian friend of mine last year. She had recently moved to the US and said the trend was huge in Europe. Lately I've noticed a few stars sporting the look (Fergie, Rihanna). What do you guys think? Will you try it out or do you think it just looks weird?

How would you go about living with those nails? I think it would just be too hard to be functional to follow that trend.

I have really long/skinny fingers and long nail beds so even if I wanted to try out the trend, I wouldn't for fear of looking like a witch! lol

I think I might try it... but only for going out. I can't imagine wearing this to work!

I saw the "NEWS" segment that Beautylish posted, and I'm a more of a SQUVAL (sp?) kind of girl. Especially when I like to get French Tip gel nails.
One time I got my nails done, this lady kind of made my nails more pointy... and I didn't really like it. =| It looked to pointy for me, especially when my fingers are more on the thin side.

I hated those nails in the 1980s then again in the 1990s. Still not a fan of pointed nails in this decade either!

I think it's a fun statement, but they're not at all practical for me.

I honestly don't like this nail trend. I agree with Angela; I'd only try this if I was going out and only with press on nails so I can take them off after one night. I wear contacts and I feel like that would rip my contacts as I tried putting them in. To each her own though.

I like the trend but unfortunately I can't try it out but I do have oval nails. There a cute alternative if your not willing to go as far as the full point.

I think the shortage pointed nails can look cool, but I've seen some shoots with outrageously long pointed nails and it's just not cute in my opinion. I would think using the bathroom would become a challenge.
