I have dark circles and a lot of acne scarring, and aside from sunscreen, I am absolutely so insecure about wearing a bare face to the beach. I feel like I need a load of concealer to not look dead and spotty. Help! I need the coverage without looking "done up". Tinted moisturizers don't do much for me either!

I know EXACTLY how you feel, I have the same exact issue. Tinted moisturizers don't do much for me either. However, I do wear makeup when going to the beach, just not a lot of it. So what I do is put on a tinted moisturizer with SPF in it, and then conceal whatever needs to be concealed. Then I put a VERY light coating of translucent powder over it, and slap on waterproof eyeliner/mascara, along with some bronzer. I typically don't care if my face isn't looking picture perfect, as long as I am able to cover up the majority of redness from acne/acne scarring. So yes, I know exactly how you feel, and living literally 5 minutes from the beach, it can be intimidating. Just be sure to wash your face once you come home so you don't clog your pores :) Hope this was somewhat of help!

It was! Thank you! I mostly go in the water which is where I'm worries about my makeup coming off. I guess it's just inevitable and I can't avoid having bare skin! Maybe I'll just look around for a really good concealer and put that under my eyes and on my blemishes/scars. Is there such thing as a waterproof concealer? I'm going to search!

I have some what of a similar situation. I have really bad allergies so my eyes are really dry and my eye lids a dark and reddish. I have such a hard time covering that up. Concealer doesn't work and neither does painterly paint pot.
I wish I lived near a beach. Chicago is a little more than an hour away from me/ :( I can't wait until next month. I'll be seeing the ocean for the very first time. SO excited!

Samantha- definitely check out the Makeup Forever Aqua line. Also, their Mat Velvet + foundation is waterproof I believe. Its a bit pricey, but it is my alltime favorite foundation. Also, Urban Decay's 24/7 line is awesome as well. All these awesome waterproof items are pretty expensive but SO worth it in my opinion!
Angie- yes, I definitely take living by the beach for granted lol! The only time it is not fun to live by the beach is during Florida's CRAZY hurricane season, which starts June 1 and lasts until the end of November. The plus is being able to go to the beach year round, even during the winter :P I would love to visit Chicago though! I've never been :)

I'll definitely try out Make Up For Ever! Thank you for all of your help! I only live an hour from the beach so when I go it's always with friends or my boyfriend, so I want too look decent! Brianna, I'll see if I can sample the MUFE foundation that you recommemded!

I know how you feel- I have the exact same issues. I'm always afraid of being barefaced at the beach. I like to put my sunscreen on, apply bare minerals, and some waterproof mascara. Then I'll finish it off with a coral gloss or just some chapstick. The gloss can also double for a little cheek color if you're looking too washed out with just face makeup on : )

Angie/Brianna - I live in the suburbs, outside of Chicago, about an hour to the beach, but I frequently make the trip! My skin used to be terrible when I was younger and I actually avoided any water related activities. Now, thankfully, my face has become clearer, still blackheads, but I feel wearing foundation has a tendency to make those worse so I skip it! Samantha - I never had much of a problem with CoverGirl foundation (the kind that comes in the case, not liquid). It stayed on in my backyard pool. Just blot it with your towel when you get out the water, don't rub and it usually stays on! Don't put it on too thick though, otherwise it will crease. I believe one of theirs has an SPF in it now too! Good Luck! And I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much about it, invest in some large sunglasses, covers the under eye circles and part of your face! =) They are a lifesaver!

Dermablend gives heavy duty coverage and is waterproof. I apply with a point tip concealer because if you just put it on the spots you're trying to camouflage (and leave the rest of your skin bare), it looks much more natural.
