Hey everyone! I'm new to Beautylish and am a budding cosmetics lover, but I'd love any advice regarding best products (head to toe) that stand against ruinous summer weather. I live in New Orleans, so in about 2 weeks this is gonna be a REAL concern! :-)

I live in Singapore and it’s hot and humid ALL year round. I use primers for everything. Too Faced Shadow Insurance for eyelids, and MAC Prep and Prime for face. Everything stays on with those two products as a base, so you could give that a try. Also, I keep a MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder and Johnson and Johnson’s oil blotting sheets in my bag for touch-ups.

Invest in a finely-milled powder to set your makeup with. It will absorb any excess moisture and help buy more time w/ its ability to wear long. Set your eye liner w/ black eyeshadow so it stays in place, it's the same idea as setting your foundation/face w/ powder.
I've also heard a setting spray like Model in A Bottle will help seal everything in too. =)

Look for products that are long wearing, water/sweat resistant

I live in Hawaii and it is very humid here. Especially when one second it's rainy and then the sun comes out the next second, or when it's both sunny and rainy.
To me, no matter what I do, Prime and set, liquid vs powder, etc. my face always gets oily during the day. So I have a pack of oil blotter sheets with me. I swear I use about 10+ a day. =|
Tatcha is a good blotting powder. I'm glad there is a vendor close my work that sales them. If not, Clean & Clear blotters are just as good and found at most drug stores.

Like Vivian, I live in Singapore so I kinda know what you're talking about. Heat, humidity, sweat! Woohoo!
I think a good primer is really important. I switch between the Biotherm correcting primers which have an SPF in them and the MUFE All Mat for when I might get photographed (you know there's always that one girl with her camera out).
MUFE do a great waterproof concealer as well. I can't live without it, seriously. Their Aqua liners are great for when you don't feel like putting on eyeshadow as well. Great colours and they don't move, no matter what.
Like Soma said, a fine setting powder is really useful. I'm currently using a Japanese one. I use the powder to keep myself matte instead of the blotters.
Blotting papers are useless for me since I'm constantly covered in a sheen of sweat so, unless I'm going for some kind of avant look where I've got bits of semi-dissolved paper stuck all over my face, I'm giving those a pass. But you might consider investing in some. The Body Shop do a few good ones.

Australian summers are humid, hot and sticky. Its a daily fight to keep makeup from melting off your face before you walk out the door of a morning and having it look fresh right into the night (all the party animals out there)
My tips to share are:
#1 a good e/s base. You eye makeup will stay perfect morning to night - benefit stay don't stray or too faced shadow insurance
#2 PRIME! without this your skins natural oils will breakdown your foundation leaving your skin patchy and gross. I use various different primers in summer (one called Face of Australia Primer) but a staple is one that mattifies your skin eg MAC, Smashbox, Too Faced have some to name a few. You skin is hydrated, smoothed and ready for a faboulous foundation.
#3 Foundation - water based & oil FREE. All summer (here in Aus) i used Napoleon Perdis China Doll Foundation it costs about $65AUD here for 30mls. Not cheap but its a velvet formula thats semi matte and self setting, it leaves my skin looking flawless.
I follow with a setting powder (HD Powder) something that's fine-milled. This helps keep the oil at bay for a few hours before touch ups.
After for a little more coverage i use a powder on top. Only a little because throughout the day i'll apply more and don't want to end up with a caked on mask that looks like its going to melt. I just lightly powder for coverage across the t-zone, and on my cheeks and chin.
#4 Bronzer is a must and even though my skin is quite fair now (i turn ghostly white in winter :P), i use a gradual tanner in summer. I apply a bronzer to add colour back to my face for a fresh look. How ever you wish to apply it E3 is my fav way.
They would be my top 4 must haves for summer makeups that last. Gloss and lip balms are essential all year round. Mascaras well thats personal preference really normal or waterproof, same with eyeliners.
