Surge vs. Clarisonic

Is it the same thing just cheaper? Or is there a major difference between the two.

There's a difference. Clarisonic says: they use a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone.

The clarisonic has a portion of the brush that spins and a portion that stays stable but *I think* vibrates a bit. It is based on he SoniCare toothbrush (same company). I wrote a review here: http://www.beautylish.com/p/clarisonic-skincare-brush-bca-pink

My understanding with he C&C Surge is that it just vibrates, so your not getting the same level of exfoliation or the deepness of cleaning. Nor do you have the accountability factor. The clarisonic beeps to let you know it's time to move to a new quadrant of your face. (You need to use this for 1 solid minute to get the results posted on their site, which ever brand you choose). I have not used the Surge, all though I would love to test it out to see the difference.

I love mine. If it broke, I'd run out and buy a replacement immediately. I didn't take it with me on vacation and I could totally tell the difference in the texture of my skin after 1 week without it.

I think the Clarisonic is overlooked for it's quality craftsmanship VS it's ability to perform a good cleaning. I've had my Clarisonic Pro for only 3 months now, but my skin has greatly improved in its texture/finish. I agree w/ all Nancy mentioned above, but also - the Clarisonic is a really well made product. I use mine in the shower, and it's a slippery place. I've dropped it one too many times to remember, but every time I start to cry as I pick it up, it turns right back on after bouncing several times off the shower floor with its happy little "beep-beeps" and the world is right again.

I'm not sure about other brands trying to do the same thing as the Clarisonic, but my device is sturdy - like a lobster. It's taken some nasty spills in my shower due to my own negligence, but it's a tank.

I do think there's not too big of a difference between the PRO and MIA though... I received mine as a gift, so I am grateful, but they could have saved some $ w/ the MIA, since I've NEVER bothered to try any of the other speed settings. It all depends on your skin and personal preference though.

Great point! I too have dropped it: in the shower, my sink or to it bounces off of the counter to the floor and like a Timex, takes a licking but keeps on ticking, I have had mine for +3 years.
