I have the shortest, most sparse lashes ever-my fault for picking off my mascara! So now I need something to help with them. I bought the Loreal Lash Serum a couple weeks ago but haven't been very diligent in applying it. Has anyone used it (or any other lash serums) and what were your results?

I've been using the same lash serum...not sure if its really working on my sparse eyelashes??? But we'll see, my coworker told me about it..she's been using it for about 3 months...and she says it works!

I've actually been using castor oil (from Whole Foods) on my lashes after reading tons of reviews about it on makeupalley.com. Some girls on there have found that it makes tons of new lashes grow, and makes them grow really long. After 2 weeks of consistent, daily use before bed, I haven't found any new lashes, but the ones I do have have grown SUPER long. My mom's been using it on her sparse brows for a month now, and they've definitely gotten longer too! My cousin is using latisse and that stuff definitely works to grow more lashes + make them longer though, but it's not cheap!

I bought and used the Loreal Lash Serum for about a week and I didn't see a difference during such a short period of time. I guess I should have tried it for longer, but I already have a problem washing my face every night (a crime, I know), that I dread any other extra steps I have to take before I fall asleep. Ahhhh... bad Thyda... bad!

I purchased Careprost (a generic brand of Latisse) through alldaychemist.com for $11. (It's a site that sells pharmaceutical products. Shipping costs are super high.. I think $25?) I still thought purchasing a much cheaper brand with the high shipping cost was more worth it than spending 100+ on Latisse.
I've been using it for almost 6 weeks now and I started seeing differences into my 5th week of application. It really works. BUT you cannot be lazy with it. I've missed once or maybe twice, but definitely been consistent with applying.
The negative to the serum is that you'll see the skin around your eyes become darker which isn't so pretty without concealer. I wear makeup on a daily basis though, so I am willing to sacrifice the skin around my eyes for the longer lashes because I seriously love having the extra length there.
Here's the link to the product I'm talking about: https://www.alldaychemist.com/936_Latisse and don't be lazy!! :D

The Loreal Lash Serum works! I've used it religiously for about 2 months now, and believe me, my lashes have never been stronger...and if I might say, longer as well. It's one product I'd totally recommend.

It's not a lash growth serum per se, but it does help make the lashes healthier, and I believe for the amount you pay, it's a pretty good product.

I've been using Talika's Lipocils Expert for 3 weeks and it definitely works. They tell you to use it 2x/day, but I've only done it once a day. Even my S.O. noticed the lashes getting longer. They've also gotten thicker and has more curl. It's cheaper than Latisse or Revitalash, but it's still not THAT cheap at $55/tube. Amazon sells it at a lower price, about $45-47.

I tried the L'Oreal lash serum, it didn't seem to do too much for me lash-wise. A possible side effect is a darkening/discolouration of your iris (I believe this is also true of Latisse? I'm not positive though)...I did not want to use this product too long as I didn't want to alter the shade of my blue eyes ;)

hmm castor oil? wow! I think I should try that on both my brows and lashes! :P

Eyelashes like any other hair is made up of dead cells, no amount of products can make the lashes grow faster or thicker. That prescription one, no idea how it works, but normal over-the-counter (OTC) products can't make lashes grow. There is a cycle to how hair dies and honestly the BEST thing to do is to have a proper diet and/or take multi-vitamins.

A warning about vitamins now. I don't suggest taking vitamins made "specifically" for growing hair, nails, etc. If you read the labels many of those vitamins are well over the daily recommended dosage. Certain vitamins and minerals CAN and DO cause health problems if you overdose on it.

I did a small amount of research on Latisse. The chemical name is bimatoprost (bye-MAT-oh-prost) and is a prostaglandin analog used to increase the length, thickness, and darkness of eyelashes. Doing a definition search on prostaglandin, it means that it's a "hormone-like substances" meant to help increase eyelash grow. http://www.medicinenet.com/bimatoprost/article.htm

As to the person above who wrote, "I purchased Careprost (a generic brand of Latisse)". There is no generic for Latisse at this time. If you bought a generic you bought something that may not be real bimatoprost. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, the maker of Careprost, is based in India where pharmacology testing standards are subpar to that in the US or UK. I did Google the product and it supposedly is bimatoprost solution but since it's not prescribed I would be VARY wary about using it. Bimatoprost was and is primarily used to treat glaucoma. By purchasing it without a prescription you are taking a HUGE risk of it either not being bimatoprost, or not having enough bimatoprost or having too much bimatoprost. You really don't know what you're buying.

There is nothing in L'Oreal Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum to make the hair grow faster or thicker. There is a "thickening" agent in the ingredients but it's also in normal mascara.

RevitaLash also has nothing in it to make lashes grow thicker or longer. Ingredients: "Water/Aqua/Eau, Octapeptide-2, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Protein, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Calendula Officianalis Flower Extract, Isopropyl Cloprostenate, Swertia Japonica Extract, Chlorphenesin,Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Biotin, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin, Disodium Phosphate, Oleanic Acid, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Butylene Glycol, Apiqenin, Sodium Chloride, Phosphoric Acid, Cellulose Gum,PPG-26-Buteth-26."

I want to try it but am worried that it will cause discoloration around my eyes. However, it has made a lot of the guru's lashes really long and pretty. For example Megan from easyaccessbeauty.

I have super blue eyes, and i've been using it for about a month and i haven't seen any discoloration at all both on the iris and around the eyes.

I was at the store to buy the Loreal serum, but stumbled across the Wet N Wild mega lash serum and mascara set. I decided to buy it first and try it out. It was only $6.99. I'm not too concerned about length, I'm more about full, healthier lashes. Of course, length would always help. It's only been 2 days..so I'll keep everyone posted.

The Loreal Lash Serum definitely made my lashes healthier. I did not notice fall-out when I removed my MUFE Aqua mascara, and that sh*t is a pain in the *ss to get off! I didn't notice much growth per se, but I did notice they were growing in thicker because they weren't falling out as much.

I got lazy using it though, because some days I would wake up and my eyes would be itchy if I globbed on too much. It's a great lash primer as well if you want it to make removing water proof mascaras a tad easier. =)

I've also had no experience w/ eyelid darkening or iris discoloration using this product.

Here is the thing about lash serums... once your lashes fall out (which lashes only last about 30-40 days) all the work you put into growing them is gone. You will need to use (which means purchase) the serum forever if you want the same result. This is the reason why I havent put the time or money into a lash serum. I know for myself it would be like a job to remember to apply it once or twice a day. Those are the things that stop me from buying such a product. I am sure that once people get the result they are looking for, think that they can stop using the product but that is not the case. If you think about it logically, you will need to use it forever.

Sorry if that was such a downer of a response. I just like to put that into people's heads before they go out and purchase such an expensive product (or any serums at all).

I would just use false eyelashes, get extensions, or get the best advise for which mascara you should use (I use L'Oreal Teleoscopic.. and it works wonders on my short lashes). Here is a link to my blog of some before and after pictures with the mascara.
