Gender Roles

it is and it shouldn't be. Fashion and style are forms of personal expression where gender should play no role.

After all, it doesn't on the runway and it shouldn't in the realway. ;-)

Now grab your bag - let's go to the shops.  xoxo

I guess it is certain places. Here in NY it's normal. To see men go into women shops to shop. With no problems.

I totally agree with you Andrew. At my high school we had a boy running for prom and he wanted to wear a dress. The school found a way to expel him that way he couldn't go to prom. But, yet they had a girl in full tuxedo with her girlfriend. I totally agree with you and i don't why people cant accept the fact that they chose to express themselves in a different way. They are not causing any harm so why should people treat them any different.

No way! I have a guy friend that ROCKS everything made LAMB! He loves collecting Alexander McQueen pieces, and he is one of the BEST dressed males I know! I envy his couture collection, as he is studying fashion design, it's so fitting! He also looks like it was MADE for him, which is AMAZING considering it was made for females, and it looks so masculine how he can flip it! I also live in California though - where people are much more open-minded.

Rina N. - I am so sorry that your school had to find that as a "fault". To deny someone of an education by expelling them is ridiculous when clothing is such a minor thing to be punished for!

Hi Andrew! Fascinating responses. It's unfortunately still frowned upon (and unrightfully so). I think location also plays a huge factor—less of an issue in more metropolitan cities.

It saddens me that this still happens because some of my biggest makeup/fashion inspirations cross-dress for a living. It almost angers me because self-expression is not something that should be taken away by a few hurtful words.
We can all just say that the world needs to be so much more accepting, but it's only a matter of time 'till we finally see people just accept it for what it is. :( But to all the boys out there that do this... never ever ever everrrrrr stop<3
