I have used the Neostrata skin resurfacing duo($73CAD) for the past three years now. and I have to say it never fails to surprise me in its effectiveness. I have used it in combination with my Neostrata Skin Renewal peel as well though....I had extremely bad acne and bad acne scars. Now my skin is clear and scar free, minus one cystic acne scar which is almost gone.
I also had a bad motorcycle burn on my left ankle from 2 years ago. I used the microdermabrasion and peel on my burn and it is now flush with the rest of the skin and the pigmentation is almost gone.
If I could recommend anything it would be those products!
as for the fact of it being gentle.... well I used it when I had bad acne. also it is super safe for sensitive skin as it is made by dermatologists. :)
I really do hope this helps!

I don't think of my Clarisonic as a microdermabrasion kit, as much as I see it as an exfoliator. I tried L'Oreal's home kit that included the cleanser and moisturizer, and it wasn't bad... But a far cry from pro results. I do love my Clarisonic though... And the occasional trip to get a microdermabrasion treatment.

I was using one from Mary Kay a few years back and I had to stop because it was doing more harm than good to my face. Now I just get the kit to rid my elbows of rough skin....does an awesome job at that.

I may just have really sensitive skin, but I hate the Clarisonic. I gave mine to a friend after only using it for two weeks because it's just too harsh on my skin and made me dry, peely, red and irrititated. I exfoliate 3 times a week with a creamy gentle exfoliator and I am also on a retinol prescription. Once a month or so I use the buffing pads you can purchase at most drugstores, to buff away the dead skin that retinol can cause.
Exfoliating that harshly everyday is terrible for you skin and just triggers premature aging from regular free radical trauma and hyper-pigmentation due to over stimulation of melanin. Plus, your skin will eventually become dried out due to overexfoliation, which will lead to wrinkles earlier on! If you are acne prone like me and you have sensitive skin, the last thing my breakouts need is irritation, because it causes them to inflame leaving terrible scarring behind.
I recommend if you need help with exfoliation and dullness to purchase a good serum that contains retinol or any type of AHA, or visit your derm for a prescription. That coupled with gentle a gentle exfoliator, deep moisturizing at night time will get your skin glowing and soft in no time! Wear SPF!

It may sound a bit silly but I've recently started using baking soda and a little bit of water as a face scrub, and it easily exfoliates all dead skin away, leaving it silky smooth! Even just putting a bit in with your normal face wash you can really see and feel the difference, and it's cheap too :)
