Hey ladies, i just hit pan on msf and right now my money is funny lol! So i was wondering if there is an affordable dupe or a good setting powder in general. Thanks :)

I have been trying to find a dupe for MAC by candlelight MSF. So far no success : (

A dupe for MSF natural would be the Dream matte powder by Maybelline according to the Temptalia dupe list.
I have it and I like it. It's not powdery, and it goes on very smooth on the skin.

@Deisha really? I find the maybelline to give me a more matte, powdered down finish (not too powdery, I love the stuff) than my MSFN.

@Dylan, Sorry I meant not chalky, it's like a powdered cream. I have oily skin so it makes my skin matte but still natural looking when applied sparsely.

Physician's Formula Happy Booster bronzing powders and blushes remind me of MAC MSF powders in texture, unfortunately, they have a limited range of colors... Also, Hardcandy blushes and highlighters are close dupes for a fraction of the price too.

@Deisha that makes a lot more sense lol =P I've got normal/combo skin so I only really get oily on my t-zone, therefore the dream matte is exactly that.

@Soma I need some of those happy boosters, especially the bronzers! I need to branch out my repertoir, I've been rocking Rimmel Sun Queen bronzer for about as long as I have been wearing bronzer.

@Soma do they have the slight shimmer to them?

Yes, both do. The Hardcandy ones have veining in them and look exactly like MSFs... I have yet to try them, but the reviews on MUA tempt me to break my ban on endorsing Walmart just to try them! The PF Happy Booster bronzers have their signature heart pattern on it, but they also have a reflective quality to them. The PF bronzer when applied has a very fine sheen, so I prefer to use them as highlights for darker skin or if I want the overall "glow". I would not suggest using them as a contour powder though, since they do have a sheen to them.

I use the Guerlain meteorites as well... but the price difference is HUGELY signigicant with the same effect. Because the PF one is a bronzer, it emits more of a golden glow than the beige meteorites I have, which is less noticeable and more brightening. On my NC30 skin, the PF bronzer perfect for a natural glow and doesn't change the color of my skin on days I want a more subtle look. PF bronzer reminds me of a less shinier version of Too Face's leopard bronzers. Their blushes [natural and rose] are very nice and well worth the money, especially if you can find their manufacture coupons on the packaging during a sale. =)

Oh, and as far as shimmer compared to MACs By Candlelight [which I also have] the Bronzer isn't as shimmery as that, and has no larger shimmer particles in it. It's more of an overall finely milled texture, like MACs Shroom eyeshadow used as a highlight.

Hope that helps!

I've used up so many Msf naturals it is unreal! Started to get Rimmel stay matte powder instead, the finish and staying power is just as good!

THE BEST one I've come across so far is one by Sephora. It's called micro smooth. A even cheaper alternative would be true match powder or revlon has a domed shaped powder( can't remember the name)

Im currently on the hunt for MSF natural dupe but i might jut break down and buy the original. as far as the MSF highlighters. Revlons Mineral Finishing Powder in Brighten is a dupe for their "soft and gentle"

Patrice, which skinfinish were you using? The finishing powder, bronzer, or highlight kind? sephora makes a skinfinish natural dupe. I can't remember how much I paid, but it was less than MAC. It's called Microsmooth.
