apply at MAC ! I was a freelancer there and didnt go to school or take classes. All u have to do is prove that u are great at what u do :)

I would suggest that you take some classes at trade shows etc. if you have some prominent artists in your area see when they are offering classes. It's always good to take classes to expand your knowledge as well as practice the art. Counter experience is priceless, BUT there are many who make it without that and bulild their freelance business by continuing to test etc.

If it's for personal usage I think youtube is a better, cheaper option. If professionalism, then going to a makeup school is better.
