Payless Unforgettable Moments makeup

Payless shoes now sells makeup. One of the lines they sell is called "Unforgettable Moments".

I won, through their Facebook account, the Romantic Afternoon Eye & Lip Palette (retail $9.99). I haven't tried it yet since it came in the mail yesterday while I was out of town and just opened the package a short time ago but I can review the packaging.

The packaging is made of cardboard. The clasp is magnetic so it shuts nicely. It's not a super strong magnetic clasp so you don't have to pry it open. The downside is the case itself since it's cardboard it bangs up pretty easy. I just got it and removed it from the plastic wrap and the corners are already dinged up.

As for colors - three of the colors are eyeshadows and three are lip sticks/glosses. The colors are "rose" colors (i.e. pink) and are soft pinks. I'm not crazy about the mauve shadow in the case, again haven't tried it so I don't know how it actually looks tried on.

a shoe store selling makeup? that makes me kinda skeptical lol

lol - I know, right! That's why they've been giving it away on their Facebook. I'm not sure if the "contest" is daily or weekly though. The labeling on it says "distributed by Payless" so we definitely know they're not making it. lol

lol! have you tried it out?

Okay, got around to using it today. Not that impressed, least not with this color palette.

Pigmentation:
The colors first two colors are sheer while the darker shade (between a Mauve Taupe and a Purple Taupe which I'll now refer to as a generic mauve) is much nicer. The Old Rose (middle shade) is a nice shade of pink while the light pink is a light Tea Rose color.

Texture:
The lip glosses texture is okay but definitely not the best I've used. These glosses would benefit when paired with a lip liner or a matte lipsticks. Used on it's own, as I did, and I have the feeling it'll come right off with the first sip or bite I take.
The eye shadows feel nice. Some shadows I've used in the past - that are pressed - tend to feel dry to me while these don't.

Shadow Fallout:
The mauve color had the most fall out because it was the darkest color to be seen. The lighter two colors I didn't notice much fall out.

Blending:
The shadows blended okay. I've worked with better and I've used far worse shadows when it comes to blending. These colors are in the middle of the pack.

Would I buy this product or use it again? Maybe. I might not buy this color palette but I would like to try the "Classic Glamour Eye & Lip Palette" which contains three grays and three reds (some of my favorite colors). Personally, I'm just not into the colors of the palette that much, if incorporated with other colors that I do wear than I think it'd be fine but as is, just this palette alone, nope wouldn't use it again.

Ok, I caved. I went and bought the "Classic Glamour" palette today. It's only sale for $5.99 and I had a $2 off coupon making my final price, after tax, $4.32.

The case exterior is exactly the same as the "Romantic Afternoon Eye & Lip Palette" but the interior is red.

The three eye shadows are gray/silver. The light and medium silver are a shimmer while the dark gray is a matte.

The three lip glosses range from a red that's similar to interior case and it's shimmery candy apple red. The medium is similar to a Lust red while the darker shade is more on the Rosewood side.

I saw this about a month ago at the store. I couldn't help but laugh at the line. Because that was the first thing I saw as I walked into the store. I said, Uhmmm this is still a shoe store right? LOL
I wasn't very impressed with the colors or packaging either, so I didn't buy.

i did a review for them a few months ago...the eyeshadow pigmentation was great but the blue liner took a week to wash off my arm (swatches). it's needless to say...i gave it away and didn't buy more

Which products did you have?

I had the soft petals eye palette and the pretty plums lip palette. The pigment on the lips was barely there, so I gave it to my daughter. The eye kit was ok for the shadows but once the liner wouldn't come off. I vowed never to buy it again.

Finally got around to using the "Classic Glamour" today but I used sponge applicators instead of my brushes. The colors were nice with the sponges but not so hot with brushes.
