Orange pigment with concealer? Why?!

So I had a minor stroke of genius this evening. I have had the biggest problem ever with dark circles lately, and no concealer I have tried does quite exactly what I want it to do.
I remember watching Petrilude's video about covering beard shadow and how orange cancels out the blue, yada yada.

I have a Sleek Blush in Aruba at home that is SUPER orange pigmented and I never use really it. So i decided to scrape just a tiny amount of the top off and mixed it with Clinique's Smoothing Concealer on the back of my hand.
Note:::I have tried only two other orange concealers in my life, and they have both been cream form, which I find dries out that area unnecessarily, and cakes. Which just ends up drawing attention to that area.

IT WORKS AMAZINGLY! If you get a chance, try it. I even blended my foundation over it lightly to see how it turned out, and it looked great. Hope this helps someone, even though it is slightly unorthodox. = p

that is very smart! sadly i do not have any single orange pigment in my house...im thinking lipstick but that would be greasy and would crease real bad lol. though im curious did you turn the concealer orange or just made it peachy? Thank you :)

It made it peachy but slightly orange. I suppose you could add or subtract as much as you need. I am darker complected right now, so the dark circles are bluer, and I needed more orange.

Sleek is very inexpensive, and they are VERY pigmented blushes for the most part. I think they run like $5.00 a blush, and they blend like a dream. The shipping would be my only gripe. I order from VanityPalace on ebay, in case you were wondering, as it has to be shipped from UK and shipping is more inexpensive.

I considered the lipstick too, but honestly? That's gross lol, It would be greasy, but once it blended out it would dry the hell out of your eyes. I am using Differin right now which is a retinoid treatment, and combing that with Winter dryness, my skin can't handle cake concealers.

oh okay :) i see so it just depends on how blue the dark circles are! thanks! :D
and yeah my problem too with sleek is their shipping. i guess maybe when i get to save up id see if i can get that blush :D

and lol i said the lipstick cause thats the only orange item in my vanity. haha but i doubt id use it cause im scared it would make me break out. but thank you so much for the cool tip! id try it out as soon as i get a good orange pigment, maybe i can use my other concealers as under eye ones too! :D
