Grow hair longer?

I've dyed my hair and bleached it a bit. But I'm done, I've stopped. I bleached it once to dye it blonde. But now I'm going to let it all grow out. I'm using a conditioner repair, and a lengthening shampoo. I think I may have some split ends though. Should I get a haircut now, or can I wait til Thanksgiving? I last got one in June about, and before then March.

hey there! in my experience trimming hair just defeats the purpose, ur just cutting the hair thats grown. so personally i don't believe in trimming every month( although hair will look much healthier, i trim every 4 to 6 months, here are some of my tips for growing out hair, DONT BRUSH WET HAIR, comb through with a wide toothed comb from the ends up, brushing will cause breakage and ends to split, its great that you're using a lengthening shampoo, i love Lee stafford treatment also lengthening. supplements that contain biotin really have made a huge difference for me, treat your hair whenever you can with oils, i like olive oil, and indian hair oils like amla and coconut they are pretty cheap too, argan oil is great as well, and sleep with a braid at night prevents breakage :) good luck

I bleach my hair blonde & it doesnt grow very fast. One day in walgreens i seen this stuff called Mane & Tale. Its for horses hair, lol but humans can use it too. At first i was like ehhh idk if this going to work, I used for a few months, and it really does work; Before i started using it my hair was to my shoulders, and it grew past by boobs lol..It also made my hair really shiney & soft. They have a deep condinter too. Its not expensive either, I would really recommend buying it. If you dont wanna use that, Pantene has a shampoo&Con called Length&Stregthn that works great too. Hope this helps!!

If you have split ends you need to have those trimmed otherwise think of it this way, your sweater has a thread that's unraveling, what happens if you keep pulling on it? The thread continues to unravel and the sweater has to be thrown away. It's the same with a split end but with splits it will continue up the hair shaft damaging any new hair.

Also, hair growth is subjective. I know people claim up and down that they used this or that product and miraculously their hair grew to their butt within six months. I call BS on anyone making such claims because hair, on a normal cycle, will grow about a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch per month depending on the season. Hair grows fastest in the summer and slowest in the winter. Hair also has a growth cycle and each individual follicle has it's own stage in where it's growing.

You can take vitamins to help your body and that in turn will help create healthier hair cells but no shampoo, conditioner or vitamin will make your hair grow faster. There are medications available via prescription that can help stimulate hair growth but anything over-the-counter is just hype much like products that promise you'll look younger or have fake looking eyelashes (when the model is wearing eyelashes to begin with).

Thanks guys :) I think I'll get a Thanksgiving haircut, and then a Spring one. :D I'll space it out a little more.

If you know you have split ends you should definitely get those chopped off! You don't necessarily need to get a cut, but at least a trim. I've done and still do a lot of coloring to my hair (I've bleached it too) and heating. I'm not gonna lie, I don't trim! But my hair still manages to grow. I wish I'd trim, but I'm just too lazy to go to the salon and pay! Ya know? But I recommend it though.

You should definitely use shampoo & conditioner, but don't use 2 in 1! This may sound funny, but I found that my hair started growing faster when I combed after the shower, haha. And I comb it again a couple hours once it's almost dry but not completely.

And if the shampoo/conditioning and combing isn't doing enough work they also have pills to help your hair grow! One of my friends used it, I don't know what it's called, but she got it from Trader Joe's and it worked! But it smelled funky though.

You could also use a leave-in-conditioner to continue repairing your hair after the wash! Good luck (:

Thanks :) I need to get a leave in conditioner. I never have time though. I'm going to NYC this month so I'll look then:)
