What beauty tips do you have that have been passed down, or picked up while traveling? What are your own beauty tips? Say where you're from in the replies because that's the most important part of this convo!

Im Indian, but born and bred in south africa :) i love indian hair oils, such as amla and coconut oil too :) also turmeric (indian spice) mixed with milk and honey is a great face mask. This is one of my african beauty secrets, maize meal with a bit of water is THE BEST exfoliator, another little trick for super soft skin is to mix glycerin with body lotion. and lastly a strange but cool little fact for you guys, most indians believe in making a black dot with eyeliner behind the ear to ward off evil eye and jealousy :)

I am from Northern California ( San Francisco bay area) my Nana who had gorgeous olive skin up until the day she died, swore by moisturizing her face with a little bit of olive oil! Something her and my great aunts did routinely. She was Sicilian, I am not sure if that is something her family did when they lived in Sicily but it does help my dry, fair freckly skin stay moisturized!

In Hungary the women rub tomato halves on their skin to tone and clarify. Just google it- might make you want to try it too!
