Hey Ladies, I'm a fellow make up lover and connoisseur. I'm new here and am always looking for make up tips and suggestions. So Anyone know a great place to buy good quality inexpensive brushes?

Sonia kashuk brushes from Target:) I prefer them to any of my higher end brushes! And they are a great price.

Welcome to Beautylish! (:
If you're up to going online, coastal scents have great inexpensive brushes.

Sigma's Synthetic 3pc. Face Kit = LOVE for foundation brushes. Beats out all of my high-end brushes so far, and nothing compares to it. I do have the Louise Young LY34 coming in the mail soon, so we'll see... but I've abandoned my MAC 187, 109, 130... Sephora airbrush #55, Sonia Kashuk flat top multi-purpose brush, etc for the Sigma ones. Can't say much for their eyebrushes, but the synthetic face kit [F80 is the standout] is a must have!

Hi Noala! Welcome to the Beautylish community, we're so glad to have you :) I agree with Breanna about Sonia Kashuk brushes—they're FAB! Here's a tip: go to the art store for all of your synthetic brush needs! My foundation, eye liner, and fan brushes are all inexpensive art store purchases and work just as well as their higher-end counterparts.

You may also want to check out Crown Brushes (online store). They have a lot of great brushes and are not very expensive.

Check out the ELF Studio Brushes (black ones). They are $3 each and work great, I love them! You can find them at Target or online (eyeslipsface.com). I also agree with the previous post, Sonia Kashuk brushes are nice. I especially like her large face brush.

At Ulta, and Walgreens you can buy EcoTools! They're the softest brushes EVER! I have almost all of them, and I even prefer them over MAC brushes! Plus they're very eco-friendly! You can buy them in sets of individually!

I've heard that Coastal Scents make good brushes which are, like all of their products, and absolute steal as far as prices are concerned. I haven't yet tried them but hope to soon!

Sonia kashuk and ELF. Even that white ELF brushes you can buy at in some stores are actually pretty good, too!

I think the coastal scents brushes are crown brushes right? I thought I heard that.
But all these mentioned are good brushes, crown, ELF studio, eco tools, I haven't tried sigma brushes but they are supposed to be good.

The Coastal Scents brushes are Crown brushes... I'm not a big fan, since many of them smell terribly [think of all the worst smells you want nowhere near your face and that's what they smell like]... They do a good job, but you really have to work at deodorizing them, and they do shed a good amount. =(

Might have been said already, but oh well just to contribute; ELF! It's sold at Target and they are really great for their price $1 or $3!

Thanks for that Soma, the Queen of Brushes. =) I really wanted to buy Crown brushes, especially when it went on sale on Hautelook -- but I didn't because I noticed the Hautelook prices were a little bit more or pretty much even to the price on the Crown's website. So I didn't buy them at all...
I've been debating on Sigma brushes, and it seems like the synthetic face brushes are a sure shot! When I have some extra cash, I'll pick it up for sure!

Definitely get the Synthetic Face Kit! Crown brushes aren't bad... they do what they do and it's a great value for your money. My problem was that it once it hit water when being washed, no copious amount of soap I used could possibly take away the smell! The only thing that worked was Enkore's video on how to deodorize your brushes, but even after soaking in diluted fabric softener, it just smelled like floral-y wet dog. =(
It's odd though, some people get it, and some don't - so I think it depends on the batch in which they are produced? Those were one of my first makeup brush purchases, and I still cringe at the thought of it today that I even wasted my $ on it. Since then, I bought MAC, Hakuhodo and others, but I got tired of blowing so much on brushes and found some really good cheap ones I could never live without.
Ecotools bronzing brush
Ecotools blush brush
Ecotools angled liner brush [better than my MAC 266]
ELF "C" brush
Essence of Beauty 2pc. crease brush set
Essence of Beauty eyeshadow brush [looks like a smaller MAC 227]

As for the elf brushes, I got one of their 1$ eye shadow brushes and the barrel part came off and feel down my drain the first time I used it. You get what you pay for.
I also got one of their $1 foundation brushes and I want to throw it out the window. The brush is stiff and hurts when I apply liquid foundation.
I didn't believe Eco Tool brushes were any good and I wasn't convinced by online reviews until I saw my cousins. Now I own my own set and love them Super soft and great quality. I say by pass the elf brushes and get Eco Tools.

I've also heard that the brushes from COSTCO are really good brushes and good quality. I love my elf brushes tho =)

Since a lot of other are recommending e.l.f. brushes i have to say get the Studio ones (they have black handles and $3 each), NOT the Essential ones (white handles and $1 each). The Studio ones are WAY better and super soft. The Essential line is just way too rough to use and shed like crazy. I just wish e.l.f. had a proper fluffy blending brush. :/
From the e.l.f. Studio line, I'd recommend the complexion brush, the powder brush, the "c" brush, and the contour brush.
Hope that helps :)
