Girls, would you do your own makeup for your wedding day or will you still do it professionally?
Since I have a greater knowledge of makeup and knowing what looks great on me. I think when I get married I will do my makeup, plus i'll be saving some cash!

I got engaged in April this year and we aren't getting married till 2013 but omg the biggest thing playing on my mind is wHAT am i gonna do about hair & makeup.... I think throughout our whole 8 year relationship it's all i have been thinking about, what my hair style & make up look will be our my wedding day!
I figure i've got time to practice heaps of looks on me and find the one most flattering to your features. I'm going to do a couple of trials with makeup artist i trust and see how it feels. The last thing i want to be stressing about is doing my own makeup, i think i'd rather sit back and relax :) xx

my husband and I are planning our renewal vows and since we didn't have a wedding the first time we want it this time around. I definitely want something bold, but for a wedding? what do you suggest?

when I got married I didn't want to do my own makeup just because I wanted to be pampered. BIG mistake. I looked ridiculous!!! I'm talking white on the lid with a black streak in the crease and about ten thousand pounds of foundation on my face. Then I decided to have a friend try to redo it for me super fast before my wedding and it looked better but still not anything what I envisioned or thought looked good. So my opinion and advice for anyone who knows they can do their makeup to just do it themselves.

I got mine done by a friend(she has been working at MAC since I've known her) that has done my make up for every high school event. Proms, banquets, senior portrait, & my wedding. I did a not so neutral look (our wedding colors Tiffany blue & brown). My make up had to match the Traditional/Untraditional COD wedding theme. A few pics on my page if you want to check out what I mean. lol But go with what you're comfortable with, it is YOUR day so you want to make sure you enjoy it that's the main thing. :)

I'd probably do my makeup for my own wedding because that'll save me a HEAP of money. Plus I think I'd be a little more educated as far as makeup by then, therefore it'll be a piece of cake. As for hair, I don't think I'd want to do it myself. I have the capability, but my hair stresses me out. lol.

I'd get both done cuz this girl gotta get pampered! BUT I'd definitely do a trial beforehand!!!

I've been thinking about that my whole life!! hahaha
I feel like I know my face the best - I love my application style & feel like a makeup artists wouldn't meet my standards. Again, like most girls here, I feel like I'm more educated by then & now already.
Plus, when I get married, I most definitely wont put some random make up artist's foundation on my face, it'll be a foundation I took months trying to figure out if it fits ALL of my standards. I WISH I could have somebody else do it - but it looks like I'll do it myself. lol

Trials GALORE w/ a variety of artists. As much as I feel confident in my own skills, I'd much rather have one less thing to stress about on the day of. It would definitely be someone that shares the same desire to use products I am interested in VS. selling me something they would rather use w/o consulting me. =)
