So I looveeee to read, haha. I was wondering who else here loves it too? And what have you guys been reading this summer? I've read My Horizontal Life and Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler, and I'm currently reading Bossypants by Tina Fey and Poor Little Bitch Girl by Jackie Collins. Everything I've read so far has been good but I'm always looking for a new good read!

I love to read tooooo!! I just finished Pack Up the Moon by Anna McPartlin (sad, but good)... The Longest Trip Home by John Grogan (same guy who wrote Marley and Me).. and a mercy by Tori Morrison, which was about slavery (not exactly the most"fun" summer read but it was good!). I read all the time and have TONS of books just lying around, waiting for a new home. We should set up a book trade! ; P

I love everything about books. I even love the way they smell. Geek, much? Yes, and I'm fine with that. Hyuk!
I've been reading quite a varied selection these past months:
"The Ode Less Travelled: Unlocking the poet within" by Stephen Fry
'Cos I love Mr Fry and I've always found poetry writing a bit intimidating so I thought I'd give this book a shot.
"Holy War: The Crusades and their impact on today's world" by Karen Armstrong
Not exactly light reading, but I enjoy a bit of comparative religion and the author's style makes it approachable.
"Makeup: The ultimate guide" and "Express Makeup" by Rae Morris
I enjoyed the few tutorials she did on YouTube and thought I'd pick 'em up.
And a few graphic novels and mangas that I've been meaning to read. Told you my geekhood was strong.
If you're into biographies, Russell Brand's "My Booky Wook" is a pretty entertaining read even if you're not familiar with his comedy.
I'll have to swing by the bookstore for the books mentioned above now.
@Angela W. A book trade sounds great except I'm in Singapore. Which is probably a good thing since I grow very attached to all my books anyway. Very hard for me to part with my darlings. ; )

I'm reading Breakfast at Tiffany's right now. Seen the movie multiple times, but never read the book! It's interesting to see how it compares.

My favorite genres lean more towards nerdy science/distopian books, but I can recommend some nonfiction like My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (and please please not the ruined movie version. The original book version is amazing.).
Or if you like sciencey or dystopian may I suggest Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and Survival of the Sickest by Dr. Sharon Moalem.

I absolutely love reading as well!!! My favorite authors are Emily Giffin & Jodi Picoult. Giffin writes more chick-lit type of books & I've loved every one (and I have them all). Jodi Picoult is a good choice if you're looking to read more serious story lines. Almost all of her books include a perspective from a lawyer because the stories typically include some kind of lawsuit. It's interesting though! Once I start reading a new book of hers, I can't put them down.
For my fellow avid readers, I am loving having a NOOK! At first I was weirded out by the idea of not having the book physically in my hands b/c I love them so much. But... having a nook is really convenient, easy to travel with, and fun to use :)

Well, if you like reading classic type books I definitely recommend East Of Eden by John Steinbeck. It is my favorite book EVER. And it's NOT one of those classics that you have to keep a dictionary w/ you at all times while reading it or anything like that. It's an easy read and you can read it for what it is or you can dig deeper searching for symbolism and all of that kind of stuff. There's tons of quotes in it that I absolutely love. And yeah..I could go on and on about this book haha. It's great, y'all should definitely check it out.
If you do decide to read it, make sure you get through the first chapter. I promise it gets better after that! :)

@Anne T. I have my books on iPhone. It's a little fiddly but it beats the hassle of carrying books, phone, and iPod separately. It's helped me travel lighter, for sure. Nothing beats having an actual book in my hands, though.
@Erica H. I'd never have thought to read "East of Eden". I'll have to pick it up soon. Thanks for the recommendation!

@Angela, I think a book swap is a fantastic idea! Most of the books I'm reading now are from the library though haha. But I do have a lot of old ones that I probably won't read again. I'll work on setting that up.
