I have olive skin coloring with yellow undertones- I want to get some really bright neon colored eyeshadow and pencils for the summer, what brands would work on my skin tone? I have used NYX (which while pretty, the bright colors aren't pigmented enough to show up as bright as I want them to on my skin) Any recommendations?? Thank you :)

Do you use a primer or base? If you apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk the colors will really pop.

Like Jessenia said, any base you apply will help the colours show up so much more. Also, you can wet your brush before you apply shadows and that will help.

@Kelsea I use urban decay's primer potion- but the colors still don't pop, I have't tried applying a wet shadow yet (because I always get nervous it will ruin my shadows) Is there anything specific that you use on the brush?
@Andrew i have never heard of Illamasqua?!!? Do you know if they ship to the US?
Thank you everyone for the great suggestions :)

Check out MUFE Aqua liners. I'm not sure if they're necessarily neon, but some are bright and pretty!

@Laura try using fix + by mac on your brushes

try applying a white base so that the colors POP ;-)

MAC and MUFE are the go-to for bright eyeshadows, I think. On the other side of the price spectrum, I think the Coastal Scents eyeshadows are pretty good.

You can always use your eyeshadows as eyeliner and use a waterproof seal if you want them to withstand the elements during summer.

I haven't read all of the comments so hopefully I'm not repeating anyone.. But seriously, the easiest way to make eye shadows really pop is to take a q-tip, run it under water for just a second, dab it on a towel so it's moist but not soaking wet, and use that to apply your shadows. I don't use a lot of eyeliners because I have a ton of eyeshadow colors and with this method, can easily make them look like colored eyeliners, which only takes like 2 minutes. I always have people asking me how I make eyeshadow colors pop so well. This is how.

@Laura K. I think Benefit has a waterproof sealer. Otherwise, you can try looking for places that carry Japanese products and cosmetics. I'm currently using an eyeliner coat by KOJI. I found a link for you to buy it online: http://www.webichi.com/en/details/33596
Hope this helps!

How does this work, do you just put it over your eyeshadow? I've never used it before..lol i feel like such noob

@Laura K. You put it on anything you want to waterproof. For example, I have really oily lids and I live in Singapore so whatever I put on just melts and transfers onto my upper lids (attractive, I know) so I just apply a coat of this onto my eyeshadow/liner and the line stays crisp all day.

Really good, bright, neon eyeliners are tough to come by but eyeshadows aren't so this is my solution.

Hope I've explained it right. Ack.

Yes thank you Lex!!! That is so interesting I live in NJ by the beach so it's really humid in the summer time so my eyeshadow melts also and i look like a clown by the end of the night, this sounds great :) thank you for the advice :)

No worries, Laura. Hope this works for you.

Word of warning, though: Make sure you have a good waterproof eye make-up remover to help you clean up at night 'cos this stuff will not budge.

Besides that, have fun playing with your colors! So excited for you right now. Hee!
