She could invest in a sulfate free shampoo? It won't be as harsh on her hair as regular shampoos. She could even use shampoo from lush which is mostly organic. Hope this helps!

I take hair,skin and nail vitamins. drink lots of water,use argan oil on my hair,and deep conditner. if I use heat I use a heat protectant. this has helped my hair be strong and grow really fast and healthy

At sallys they have a shampoo made for removing hard water build up from he brand ion!

Sulfate free shampoos, Lush shampoos, pre-natal vitamins, cut down on washing hair, etc. :)
