I read that you could do a DIY colour stripper thingy for your hair and it would take away most of the colour. because my blessed genetics have given me 5 shades of hair colours I was thinking of doing this and then dying it back to black BUT! In my googling I found horror stories of poor women who have done this and lost their hair!! Opinions, suggestions, comments??!!

You wouldn't need to color strip your hair if you're going to color it black

Well the plan was to get rid of the fifty different shades in my hair! Even when I dye it black it fades to ginger and all these other wired colours immediately so I was hoping to get rid of them all!!

Use a protein filler before coloring it black. Don't bother stripping out the color!

You don't need to strip out the colour to dye it black, even if you strip it'll still fade out ginger beccause the stripper will take it back to its lightest colour, which will probably be ginger if you've ever bleached before. Just try washing your hair with ph balanced shampoo before you dye it n it should be fine =]

Oh my gosh! Wow sorry but please DO NOT use a bleach wash! You have no idea what you are doing and could very well fry your hair off... Color is not a simple process! There is a lot of chemistry and color theory that goes into it. GO TO A SALON! We are trained in this and can give you the desired results without ruining your hair... That being said there is no point in stripping the hair before dying it darker, all that would do is damage the hair and open the cuticle more causing your hair color to fade FASTER!
