On here I've saw a lot that people spell "color", like "colour". Am I missing something?

They're both correct depending on the country you reside in. It's like gray and grey. Or the alphabet and z and how some people say zee and some people say zed.

Americans say color while people in Europe may say colour, just like they say favourite.

Favourite, Colour, Honour; all those words and more are the Canadian and British way of spelling. I think American just has a personal vendetta with the letter You. :P

I have to say as a Canadian it's truly annoying to see all our proper spelling littered with red squiggly lines beneath them when typed.

I prefer to think that us Americans are sticking to our Germanic language roots because the pronunciation of those words would be wrong with a 'you' in them. ;)
