Get a tattoo that is meaningful. Don't do it just because it's trendy. Mine is in memory of my BFF

Mine is an Egyptian scarab combined with a ladybug, because my dream was always to be an Egyptologist and ladybugs are a symbol from my childhood. (Excuse the faded bits, I need to get a touch up when I'm not broke!) My tip is placement: make sure it is in a place you can conceal reasonably easily, because you never know what circumstances may come up where you'll need to cover it up.

Key to my heart. I have 9. Hope the pics help. Make sure what you want is forever and go to a reputable place, see their art work/previous work. And make sure everything is packaged opened in front of you. Best of luck. They are addicting not sure why.. Lol.

Remember that getting it on a bone-y area (like a finger or shoulder blade) will hurt a lot more than somewhere with muscle or fat (wrist, upper arm, thigh)

I have one on my inner right wrist that says beautiful in Arabic. It reminds me that I am beautiful even when I feel down 💗

Thanks Emma E.! Yes, the clouds and background will be grey, but the dragon itself will be aqua.

There are no rules for tattoos. You can do whatever you want, its your body. I saw a bumper sticker one time: "Your body is a temple, decorate it!" Just one piece of advice though: Ink fades in the sun. Make sure you wear sunscreen to protect it and additionally use moisturizer to keep the skin supple. Women's tattoos look fresher much longer than men's do, simply because we take care of our skin (so simple to use lotion after a shower or bath).

I know this is a weird question but this topic got me thinking, does it tickle to get a tattoo on the bottom of your foot?

I'm quite a bit older than you (lots), and 2 of my kids are in very very hard and dark places right now. This Phoenix represents me rising from the ashes and living again. I'm not sure I know how to function through life at times. I love them sssooo deeply that it has felt like grieving and my soul hurts for them. One day we will rise and stand against these problems together as a family. The gist of all these posts for the most part, is a strong passionate feeling to communicate through art a moment or event or memory that profoundly affected them or their lives. It is a permanent thing. Since I was 18 I've been drawn to and amazed by the artists, process, and deepness of body art, but always allowed other people to control what I did with my body. I was 38 years old when I took back control over my body and have not looked back. I have many but this sleeve is what I'm dealing with right now and no, I will never regret any of my art. That has got to be the most important thing for you to consider. Can you see yourself at my age (almost 50 now) with the art that your wanting. Huge decision, but, don't let outside influences dictate who you are, and what you do with your body. If you do it, do it for you, and wear it as if it has always been there. I feel like me now, and I'm still the same, just much more comfortable in my own skin!

The bottom of the foot would be an extremely painful spot.
A torture technique in antiquity entails beating the bottom of foot with bamboo.
The top of the foot is a very painful spot as well.

Kimi, your sleeve is awesome. I agree with using tattoo to memorialize a life experience, as I too waited until I was 40 to get mine.
My tattoos are about the pains of life and living. Rites of passage in a hostile world. The tattoos do help to cope.
