Eyebrows and the color they should be.

This topic confuses me a lot. What is with your eyebrows being two shades lighter then your hair color? Can someone explain this to me? And what about on darker skin-tones? It's confusing me even more to pencil on a shade two tones lighter. Why is this a rule? I'm almost done school for esthetics and I just started at a makeup counter and I really want to become as knowledgable as possible.

Hmm I haven't heard that before. I always go the same or darker w mine. I thought that was the norm. if that's the rule then what happens w blondes, usually see them w a darker brow. I'm interested to see what some of the MUA say about this. hopefully you can get a answer :)

The rule is two shades darker, not lighter. Or at least that's what I've always been told(:

I'm confused too! a lady at a makeup counter told my mom that once convining her to go lighter with a brow mascara then usuall. she ended up buying it, then calling me saying I don't like it aren't they supposed to be darker? she returned and got her normal brunette. her hair is a very light Brown almost blonde. with a light brow it just did not frame out her face. same w me if I went lighter..I don't know just wouldn't look right

I could see someone with super dark brown or black hair going a touch lighter but anything lighter I have a hard time picturing it

I was told if you have black or really dark brown hair, go a shade or two lighter, anything else a shade or two darker... if you have an "unnatural" haircolor (eg blue or fire engine red) you can either go with your natural shade to fill in or match it to your color - no real rules there, just your preference.
