I have tried almost everything, from milk of magnesia to expensive primers but no matter what, by an hour I have greasy nasty skin. I have also tried multiple foundations and setting powders with no luck:(

Hmmm, by the sounds of it you have spent a lot of money and have still been left disappointed, what is your skin care regime? That may be why you still are suffering on.

Wow you have a lot of products, is your moisturiser oil free? Definitely invest in blotting sheets, have you tried no7 beautifully matte foundation?

Emma I really think you should address the oily skin first. You need to balance your skin as it is clearly over producing oil. I had oily skin which made my foundation melt off, it's calmed down a lot now thanks to the oil cleansing method I use. Go in YouTube and you'll find loads of tutorials showing you which oil would be best for you based on your skin type. Try removing your make up and cleansing in this way regularly and your skin should restore to it's natural balance. You'll find your make not only applied better but you would have to compensate by buying hundreds of different make up products. Hope that helps :)

I have extremely oil skin as well and I use st. Ives apricot scrub and Philosophy's Clear Days Ahead cleanser. I also use Photo Ready face primer from SmashBox and Matte Velvet foundation from Makeup Forever. I set my foundation with Stay Matte powder from Rimmel and I pretty much stay matte all day with few to no touch up. Hope this helps :)

@shumi do you mean cleaning my face with oil? I break out very easily, and I would be extremely nervous about using it.

Yeah that's what I mean. I know it sounds horrific putting oil on oily skin but it actually benefits it as when you use chemical products it's strips the skins natural oils which means you end up with even more oily skin! It's a vicious circle! I have similar skin to yours, I had to play around with the oils first to see which combination suited me originally I used olive oil and castor oil which made me have a MAJOR breakout! ;( I have now found my perfect combination and it's doing wonders for my skin alh. Your skins sounds similar to mine so try 30% castor oil and 70% avacado oil. Mix them together and massage 4-5 drops into your skin then use a wash cloth which has been rinsed under hot water and let the steam into your pores. Do this at least 3-4 times washing the cloth every time ensuring that every bit of oil is wiped away. Finish by using a light moisturiser as you need to put back in some of the moisture, even oily skin needs moisturising. I was nervous too but I'm glad I played around with it. Give it a try, if you break out just stop using this method. Do some research on it but I really think this will help you. Good luck :)

I think you are using too many skincare products for your face...

I use the soaps in the shower in small amounts so they can clean my pores, then when I get out I moisturize with the aloe lotion. I was prescribed a soap and medicine to use in the morning and I added in the witch hazel. The astringent is only for when I go to bed or if my face is really dirty, it gets makeup off really well.

Also you should consider what your eating as well. Drink a lot of water. Maybe google some at home remedies. My skin is kinda oily too. I make a chocolate mask and it kinda absorbs my oiliness. Blotting papers is good too, cause maybe your oily skin is due to genetics so you might just have too deal with it as best as you can.

I have extremely oily skin, nothing helped until I tried maracuja oil. Although I think I misspelled it. It is a think oil so I only use a little bit, every night before bed. & sense then my skin hasn't been better. ☺
