Just don't go for shades that are too pale, otherwise they just won't look right. you can't go wrong with bold, vibrant pinks and reds :-)

Mac lipstick are a must and they have tons of lipstick colors to choose from. I highly recommend you go there.

Try a nude lipstick if you're afraid of color. You have to find your perfect shade though.

Then I do think you should try a pink once you get more comfortable. Then you can venture out into the reds and what not. Take baby steps lol.

I would go with sheer colors like nudish pinks and vibrant colors, like coral.
