Wen is really good stuff. The whole conditioner only wash technique is really awesome. I started co washing my hair with wen at the beginning if this year and my hair completely changed. My scalp was producing much less oils, my hair became much smoother and easier to detangle. It also helped big time making my color and even my hair cuts last a lot longer. However I am not using wen anymore because it is hard to find where I live plus it can get pricey (especially if your hair is longer). So I researched co washes and a website came up with drugstore conditioners that you can use as a co wash due to its ingredients. Aussie Moist conditioner was listed on there and I decided to give it a try. I have been using it for 5 months now and my hair is still in great shape, just the same as when I used the wen. But much more cost effective!

Thanks for the alternative tip. seriously the price holds me back. I have curly hair and think that co washing would do me wonders. I just might look into other alternatives. thanks again!

Kathryn - Do you mean you only wash your hair with conditioner?

Sabrina I've actually read some people do that and use a shampoo every so often. I see that loreal has the evercream line that seems to be doing very well. I might go that route.

@Sabrina yes, I do only wash my hair with conditioner. I apply it to the roots as you would with ordinary shampoo and massage it in, add a little water to make it seem 'lathery' (it won't lather of course because there are no SLS's or other sulphates.) and then I work through to the ends of my hair, adding a big more to the ends and using a detangling comb to distribute the conditioner evenly and all the way to the ends. I let it sit on my hair for the entire time I shower then rinse. Once a month I'll use a shampoo to clarify. Even though I don't feel I really need it though.

Wauw Kathryn, what sounds like it would be awesome from my hair!! How did your hair react when you starter? Did it greas up? And did you only use shampoo once a month in the beginning as well?

My hair was a lot smoother, and no it was much less oily. I have coarse wavy/curly hair and an oily scalp. Because of how my hair is because it tangled so easily I had to wash every day and the oils were just getting out of control because of the sulphates in regular shampoo. I still wash my hair every day because of the tangling issue but the oils are kept at bay. when I started using wen, I had the original, which was great, but then I tried the fig one next which I definitely found too rich for my hair, so I was using a shampoo 1time week. Now I use a clarifying shampoo if I feel I need it, which is probably once a month.

I haven't tried wen but I will now! I can recommend pro naturals argan oil products too, they're amazing for hair...probably why I haven't really tried other products!
