Yes. I use both and think they're awesome. I use a primer more often than a setting spray, though.

I should add I don't think you need to spend an arm and a leg on a good primer. I use one from Revlon and love it.

Absolutely. I find that my makeup goes on easier and is easier to blend when I'm using a primer. And a setting spray just makes it last all day (IMO, why would we do our makeup if we don't want it to last all day right?!)

I have extremey oil skin. Like an hour after makeup application my nose is already greasy. For any gals who have overly excited sebaceous glands like me, I suggest using Philipp's Milk of Magnesia as a face primer. I know that sounds crazy, but seriously, Google it and lots of girls use this to control oil. Ever since I've started using it I can go a whole work day without worrying about my face looking like a frying pan. It's a definite staple in my makeup routine!
As for setting sprays, I like the Urban Decay one. It diffuses the powder look instantly!

Primers? No. I have oily skin and primers just make me breakout and my makeup doesn't last any longer with any of the ones I have tried. They all do the same thing a good moisturizer can do.
Setting Sprays? Yes. I love them! They help lock my foundation and powder together and also makes the finish more natural looking while making my skin feel comfortable. Mario Badescu makes a good one. I also use Fix Plus by Mac, and All-Nighter/Dew Me by Urban Decay.

It depends. If your concealer can work well as a primer, then i dont think you invest in different types of primers. And i find setting spray only useful in the summer.

Primers are a must for even and long lasting makeup applications. Smashbox photofinish foundation primer is excellent . Foundation glides on and stays. Eyeshadow primer is a must .An excellent one is the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion and a cheaper priced alternative is NYX eyeshadow base in white.

I like using the primers but the sprays I resort to during competitions and I need a shine free face on stage.

I say no to sprays.. but half of me says yes and half of me says no to primers because now they have those long last eyeshadows with built in primers but I would still buy the ones that don't have it already built in

I only use an eye primer and that costs $1. There are definitely some good primers that are inexpensive too. It's definitely important to use primers if you want your makeup to last.

Primers, yes, especially eyeshadow primer (if I don't, anything I put on my lids creases within seconds, be it cream or powder). Setting sprays, not so much. (I still have a good lot of a bottle of e.l.f.'s setting spray!)

Most times I use Monistat Anti-Chaffing Powder Gel as a primer. It's main ingredients are the main ingredients as some high-end primers... like Smashbox, Laura Geller, etc. But for the amount of product you get, it's as much as 5x cheaper!
Yes Monistat is a brand mostly associated with "yeast infections" or problems down there for women. But I swear to you, the anti-chaffing powder gel is wonders as a primer. NOTE: you must ONLY use this particular one!!!
Youtube it and you will see a bunch of users use and rave about it.
As for setting sprays, the only one I tried is E.L.F. It's alright, but I'm really dying to try Urban Decay's DeSlick!!

Skindinavia bridal setting spray works wonders for me, helps my makeup last and removers any powderyness! It is expensive but worth evry penny!
