Directions has spectacular colors, and the dye itself lasts longer than anything I've ever used. You can buy it from Amazon.

Schwarkoff Live Colour XXL does dark purples that are permanent, but if you want a bright purple you'll have to go semi permanent, but it won't last long.

If you can get ahold of it somehow, try Paul Mitchell Ink Works. It's difficult for anyone without a cosmetology license to find since the only place I know that sells it is Cosmoprof and they only sell to professionals. But if you can find it online anywhere it's great. It stays for a longgggg time.

You can't get schwarkoff in the us? That sucks :/ there must be a similar alternative? Like Directions is meant to be the UK version of Manic Panic (although I don't think it's quite as good). Some brands like L'oreal are starting to produce more adventurous colours, have a snoop online!

Splat hair color lasts forever on my hair. I just did the purple a month or two ago and you can still see the color! I've always had good experiences with Splat; I definitely recommend it ^^

I recommend Splat. I used their purple dye and I've had it for a year. It lasts a super long time. After the first dye, it was about four months before I needed to re-dye it!
