Thanks for this awesome post, Shelley! I'm sorry to hear about your reaction though, sounds itchy and painful =( I have always wondered about facial wipes. I do use them out of convenience when I'm traveling or I keep them next to my bed in case I am just *that* lazy after a night out or something. I always feel kind of weird using them since (before reading this) I had no idea what was in them or how they worked. Glad I read this, thanks!

Well I never liked them and they never irritated my skin. but they sure make my face dry. now in case I am lazyyy...I have next to my bed a few cotton pads with a 100 ml small bioderma cleanser. problem solved! I don't think they are suitable for the main cleansing of tje day. just for an emergency.

I use either garnier facial wipes or baby wipes to remove my makeup.

ELF facial wipes are great. No break outs or weird reactions.

Try Simple face wipe. It's quite good for sensitive skin.

I won't be using mass produced wipes anymore after that experience. My husband came home with a couple dozen baby wash cloths and he made a liquid cleanser that is water based with zero chemicals of any kind. Have to use within two weeks since there is no preservatives. It will be better on the environment too as there is nothing to throw away. Still unable to wear makeup as my skin still feels irritated.

I sometimes use cleansing wipes on my face but never on my eyes. I find the texture too rough. I'd much rather use a cream cleanser to remove makeup and oil free liquid eye makeup remover.

Keep coconut oil by your bed with a cotton cloth... eye make up comes off so much easier without tugging, and as a bonus it will moisturize. This is only for 'lazy' days as nothing beats a good deep clean.

I don't use cleansing wipes. I prefer a face wash that's mild but removes makeup. I have a few I can go to. every wash doesn't remove makeup of course.. if I don't have time to wash my face right when I want to remove my makeup I use maybelline makeup removing lotion. its a 3-n-one. doesn't require to b rinsed off n leaves moisture behind. I've been using my baby's wipes if I have highly pigmented colors I need to remove before washing it. I like water!.. lol

I've been using neutrogena wipes for years but I use liquid cleanser for eyes... I try to avoid using wipes for eyes cause of the running and its a sensitive area

Whether one uses wipes or liquid makeup remover on the eyes, there is still tugging on the eye considering the makeup remover has to be wiped away. How can the tugging on the eye be avoided?

I never use makeup wipes or makeup remover I wash my face once with my hands go over my eyes all my eye makeup is off then I wash again with my clarisonic no tugging on the eye area at all your cleanser should be good enough to remove your makeup but if your going to use eye makeup remover just be gentle.

I'm traveling right now but my husband got results back on my allergy test and according to him I'm allergic to a common preservative that I can't even begin to pronounce. My skin just couldn't take it anymore and those facial wipes that contained this lovely chemical just sent my skin over the edge. ;( My forehead and t-zone has to texture of cauliflower but I'm without makeup and I don't care one bit if people stare. Its temporary.

My skin is so sensitive it stings using baby wipes as well. I just use a cream cleanser that wipes off makeup now.
