I'm going to California for the first time ever this summer and I know for sure I want to go to Inglot- what other makeup (or clothing/jewelry) stores should I visit? I'm going to San Francisco, LA, and Hollywood.

Concord isn't too far from San Francisco and if you go to the mall (Sunvalley Mall or something) there, there's H&M... and two stores called Papaya and A'Gaci or something. I LOVE those last two stores. I just recently got back from CA and I wish NC had those stores. If you go to Inglot in SF (Macy's), it's only a small counter so it won't be too~ exciting, but aaah. If you see Branda, she's amazing. Love her. I've seen two LUSH places in SF as well. I went to the one near a Sephora and the women that worked there were wonderful.

If you're going to be in the SF area, try the following if you can:
SF and Napa outlets to visit the CCO's... (outlet shopping doesn't hurt either, but is def. a full day excursion)
Haight/Ashbury - a piece of thrift shopping if ur into the hippie bohemian vibe, and worth taking a Beatle's-esque photo... =P
Of course, u can shop in SF's Union Square area, but it can be a bit pricey.... =]

I live in San Antonio, Texas and I think we might have similar stores as in California. I too am planning on visiting my boyfriends family sometime this summer, probably July and I am looking forward to H&M so this is a great topic for me as well because I want to make sure I get it all while I can!
Rikki, I visited South Carolina and a small part of the time I was in North Carolina, and Georgia, man oh man, the Forever 21 in the Savannah mall was so small, I had to Google a bunch of malls because I was in need of shopping and I had no where to go! And they get everything so late over there too.

Sherry - I used to live in Savannah, lol! Of course, I moved when I was 3/4 (actually moved during my birthday week, so both ages :P) so I have no idea what it's like now, haha. North Carolina malls in Charlotte and Pineville can be quite nice, but if you go into smaller towns, it's like pfffffft.

There is one thing I can say about Charlotte and its that I HATE the airport over there, it's so big. I missed my flight by like 5 minutes and had to wait for a really small plane to take me to Savannah! It was terrible. I may go visit South Carolina again, unforunately it was Beaufort because my boyfriend is in the Marines. That town is just....well I called it "The place where all the roads lead to Wal-Mart"

I'm from Southern California (now living in FL) and I tell everyone to stay away from Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. Its overpriced and overrated. The sales tax is 9.25% so be prepared at the cash register. You must check out the Beverly Center just minutes away from Beverly Hills. Not only will you probably see someone famous but you can locate some pretty good sales at some of the high-end stores inside. Around the corner from the Beverly Center....is Make-up Forever. They just opened up that location earlier this year and its BEAUTIFUL. Its at 132 South Robertson Blvd. You must check that one out. The downtown garment district used to be the spot to go in the mid '90's but its gone downhill in my opinion and the clothes and accessories lack serious quality. You'd be better off going to any Forever 21. If you have a chance to go to the beach area....check out Santa Monica Promenade. Outdoor/indoor shopping galore. And be advised that in L.A. the freeways are NIGHTMARES so be patient as you make your way around the city. Have fun.
