Hey everyone. I wanted to ask you for makeup tips. I have very oily skin so I'm very very shiny around my nose. I also have quite a lot acne on my forehead and some red marks from previous pimples. I need tips for covering those but not making my face excessively oily. Please let me know what your tips are! I appreciate it so much!

I feel you! Try milk of magnesia as a primer, and also use a mattifying powder. Try Marcelle pressed powder or Makeup Forever HD powder. Also remember to always cleanse, tone, and moisturize your face, it will help control the oil.

Blotting sheets are essential for oily or combo skin. Just pat and go its really simple, no science needed :)

I have oily skin too and I use Noxzema when I wash my face which is amazing instead of soap and sometimes I even use it as a mask! It really cleans your skin. I also use Sea Breeze after I wash my face. I just put it on with cotton balls! When you put that on you can actually see the oil on the cotton ball because it really deep cleans your skin! It also feels really cool like the sea breeze lol! Hope that helps ;)

Get milk of magnesia!! It'll save your life. I use it as a primer and it keeps me matte all day. A ton of very oily girls use it and they love it! I swear by it. Only like $4 at a drugstore. :)

I suggest blotting paper too, they are a mainstay in my purse or when a foundation or BB cream is too dewy for my liking.

Start moisturizing with a natural oil (coconut, argan, maracuja, etc.) Your skin is probably oily because its dehydrated so its overcompensating and producing more oil than it should to keep itself hydrated. I started using maracuja oil (I use Tarte's because they offer the biggest size and others I ordered off Amazon were questionable so I just feel more comfortable going through a brand I trust and paying a little more for name/packaging. The packaging is adorable though so I think its worth it lol) almost a year ago and there's been a huge difference in my skin. My acne is more manageable and heals faster with less scarring. I tried Josie Maran's argan oil and it was okay but it didn't wow me the way the maracuja did, but everyone is different and argan oil works better for some people. Regardless of which oil you get if you choose to try it make sure its all 100% natural, cold-pressed, virgin, unrefined oil. The ingredients should be the oil and nothing else! :)

Tarte's amazonian clay line is also good for oily skin. I use the foundation and powder every day. The powder alone works great and they both have ingredients that are good for the skin.
