Dark spots on face.

I have these really black marks (pimple leftovers) on my face. my skin tone is medium white so when ever I apply any foundation the spot turns greyish kinda. The thing is I could cover it with more foundation and concealer but I really don't like too much of a... Cake face like extra artifical face kinda look.
