Try a face mask, it tears everything off.

Sometimes when I apply fake tanner, it gets in between my fingers so I take a makeup remover wipe and that usually does that trick, you can try that and if it doesn't work I have heard people use lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, or baby oil?

The self tanner I use is Clinique face an body, that stuff is never blotchy. And to get off that stuff on your face is you can try to use a face wash with those little beads, I don't know what they are called lol.

I use the jergens natural glow religiously in the summer because of how I can't tan, just make sure that you exfoliate evenly before putting it on, that's how it gets blotchy for me, if I am not evenly exfoliated.

Exfoliate just prior and lotion your entire body for a few days before beginning next round...after your splotches (exfoliating and lemon juice will banish the current issue) have gone and your skin is even again. Jergens no-odor gradual tan mousse applied to nourished, freshly exfoliated skin using disposable gloves leaves me splotch free. There is a separate cream for the face which I feel gives a soft sun-kissed glow in the 'light to medium' level. Not in my current default pic, obviously. :P
