HELP!
Ok, I usually keep an acrylic overlay on my nails to protect them from breaking but I've recently decided to go natural and give my nails a break for a while. It's been about a month and they won't stop breaking! Doing something as simple as playing with my dog will cause them to rip! Its annoying and makes my hands looks horrible! This is probably why I kept acrylic on them in the first place. Anyone have any tips or home remedies??

A product like Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails would help to strengthen them. Also, you could try soaking them in gelatin. I've heard that can help to strengthen nails. Sorry I'm not much help...

I know the feeling Ashley, but the only thing that will help your nails condition is time and a healthy diet, as you wore acrylics frequently your nail bed will be damaged and for your full section if damaged nail to grow out entirely could take months. Just be patient and it will get better

There's a product that I use by ORLY called Nailtrition. It's a little pricy but it really helps my natural nails. You could find it at Sallys Beauty Supply, Ulta or online.

@samantha Gelatin? Really? That's a new one. I'm curious to know how that will help. And you were plenty help :)
@meg yeaa I got so sick and tired of my brittle nails, I kept acrylic on them nonstop for years! I know I have a long way to go before they are back to normal. :(
@perfection I just left Ulta 10 minutes ago!! Darn it! I have to get used to checking my posts for replies (I'm new here, just signed up for BeautyLish today).
Thank you so much ladies!

My nails used to be the same way. I started using a product called Nail Tek and started taking biotin.

That happened with me when I took mine off. I use OPI Nail Envy and love it. Also drinking lots of water and taking vitamins. And massaging your cuticles with olive oil.

Nail Tek is the only thing that worked for me. You could also ask your doctor. When I got really anaemic my nails were a nightmare for about 9 months :/
