From beauty companies simply by asking. There's a long thread over on MUT about companies who have sent samples after being contacted for a request.
For me, I like to try expensive products out before buying them and have purchased a lot of products I normally wouldn't have bought if I hadn't tried it first. My local Sephora is small compared to others I've been to; they only carry the most popular brands. We don't have high end department stores here either. The closest place is Saks about 110 miles away.

Have you tried emailing the company if that brand isn't sold locally?

I know some big stores in the UK give out free samples. I would like to know if you can email for free samples. I think you can get Perfume samples that way. x

Sephora offers samples. They can make foundation, skin care and even custom perfume ones. Ask a sales associate and they'd be happy to assist you :).
