Why Are Yoga Pants The New Trend?

I noticed in the past year that yoga pants are the new trend. whether we pair it with a hoodie and ugg boots or a sexy top and heels.

I honestly think yoga pants show too much even though they are technically covering skin but the curves are definitely there for everyone to see. If a girl has camel toe showing, its distasteful. If her huge booty is out there, it's a bit much.

I respect all preferences of style but yoga pants seem like a lazy way of dressing unless you're really about to go work out or lounge around at home.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me on this but I thought I'd share my opinion on this.

Ah, it's not that bad imo. The camel toe is a bit much but the curves are fine imo. If you were to wear skinny jeans, your curves and butt would be outlined too.

Theyre not the worst thing a girl could wear, I personally think.

I think that well, if you got the booty, it's going to show no matter what and lol the camel toe, that's an ugly sight but you can get that even without wearing yoga pants...

I do agree on it. Plus I don't like it because every "loose" girl in my school wears them and my its really annoying. I don't want to see your underwear line, either learn to wear a thong or don't wear the damn things in the first place! I do find them comfortable for lounging around the house though so I can't completely bash them... however I don't like how I can't find them in the right length (I need 36-37" inseam). They're still nice though.

I disagree and I respect your opinion but I like that fact that I can dress comfortable and feel sexy too. I don't think yoga pants are like revealing but I get also where you are coming from.

Because comfortable is the new in.

If you have a butt, you have a butt. If you have curves, then there's no getting around that. You can literally get the same effects with wearing jeans and basically anything with a cotton & spandex mix. I feel like Yoga Pants (& leggings) are a easy way to dress for comfort with having to sacrifice your shape more so than if I was to wear sweatpants. Can be dressed up & if the girl can dress, I don't see what's the problem.

If referring to my comment I didn't mean as in wearing your yoga pants to the club or literally to a black tie event, I meant it as if I can dress them up the same way I can jeans, I don't see the problem. You can definitely. throw on a jacket, scarf, and boots or whatever you prefer to make an outfit less casual but still have comfort.

I honestly think they look overly casual. It's fine on occasion on a lazy day, but there's girls that wear them everyday and they just don't look like they take care of themselves it's a little disturbing. Not to mention I don't think they're that flattering, yoga leggings maybe, but plain yoga pants make your legs look straight.

I'd rather see yoga pants, than pajama pants in public. That's about as far as my opinion goes.

@Mikayla, I can't see her comment! I was like whaat, lmao. & agreeing with Brittany, skinny legged yoga pants are heaven... the original straight legs not so much - it's either super straight or almost like bell bottoms, which might not be the most flattering.

I wear yoga pants on a regular and if you see a gal with an obvious camel toe then she is wearing $10 leggings because the yoga pants I buy reveal nothing of the sort. As far as being lazy...I'm a 39 year old college graduate and mother of three who is semi-retired and gearing up to attend graduate school and with that I'm far from lazy...I EARNED the right to buy and wear whatever I want. I can think of things far more worse than some silly pants.

There's been a few posts on this topic. needless to say the outcome is always the same. some people dig the look when done right and others don't care for it. the thing is it shouldn't really matter that much. so what if a girls trying to get some extra attention; so what if a girl just thinks its cute and so what if a girl wears them because pants suck in general and yoga pants are a nice compromise :) (that would be me btw lol)

@erin. They're not cute. They're sloppy and I agree with the person who posted this. Yoga pants just look really revealing and they look like they took no effort. For those saying that you can look cute and be comfy then for the most part your wrong. Ever heard BEAUTY HURTS? Or ITS TOUGH BEING BEAUTIFUL? Some people on here obviously haven't tried

Oct 11, 2013

@violet L well that's rude. I said I respect everyone's opinion how about you try doing to the same. And no not all beauty hurts some people have natural beauty no matter what they wear. The fact that your being so judgemental to what other people like is pretty messed up.

@Violet...whoa...that's a pretty strong statement to make. I'm probably old enough to be your mother. I think people should have a choice to wear what they please. Some narrow minded thinkers are running amok tonight.

👆I agree

My husband just read this thread and he said it is super petty and pointless to judge what others chose to wear. He asked that those who are so against yoga pants to turn that disgust over into something worth voicing disgust over...like why we still have a huge homeless population or some other social ailment.

@ Violet L ever heard of IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN DON't SAY NOTHING AT ALL? Obviously not. (: God bless you honey.

I'm wearing them now to bed so its kinda funny..

I'm all for sharing my opinion and debating. But everyone here is shutting down each others opinions. Being open minded is listening to someone's opinion and applying it to yours, not sticking with it and saying everyone that thinks other wise is wrong. Can we please just be a little more respectful of eachother.
