I'm just now exploring the world of primers. I've never had a problem with my shadow but have been sucked in by the 'eye popping color all day' conversations. So I just bought NYX Eyeshadow Base. I put it on after I put on my foundation......is that the correct time? And maybe I used too much...because my eye shadow has never looked worse. My colors all melted into one another and I even got an eyeliner line on my eyelid for the first time since.....junior high! Ha!
Any advice on when to apply and how much? I'll give it one more shot!!

I don't use foundation, so when I apply my eyeshadow base (also from NYX, I love it) my eyelids are bare. I apply a small amount on each lid, and gently rubs it over the rest of the lid. I always let it dry for a minute or two before I add my eyeshadow, because this particular base seems a bit oily. And that's it. My eyeshadow have not creased once since I start using the NYX base and shadows, where as my Urban Decay primer potion and naked pallette crease every time.

Lucky little devil! I wish I didn't have to use foundation. I come from a long line of redheads. I have about 5 different colors on my face! :o)
Ok so tomorrow I have a big interview with a modeling agency so I'm not going to risk using it. I'll try it the next day and use a TON less. I was dabbing it on and I think I need to do what you said and just rub a tiny bit in and THEN be patient! I did put on the shadow pretty quick.

What I do is I but down urban decay primer potion in Eden on my lid first then I use the nyx base and my stuff doesn't budge! I have oily lids so that's why I use 2. Hope this helped a tad.

I prime before my foundation. I use one for my face and one for eyes. Then I start my hair, so the primer has a few minutes to set. Dab any "greasies" and then put on your foundation and eye color. Everything lasts longer when I give the primer a few minutes to set.

good luck with your interview!!! Less is more with the primer, def make sure to let it dry completely. I haven't used the NYX primer but i've used hundreds of others...i apply a small amount on my fingertip and gently rub onto the lid starting at the lash line and up to the brow. Eye shadow shouldn't budge, i've used concealer in a pinch but the staying power isn't as good.

Is it the base in the little jar? If so that is not a primer it's a base. You would use a base after your primer to make colors pop and stick better.

I use eyeshadow base after foundation. And I feel like it should blend into your skin for the most part so I personally don't use a lot.

try using LA COLORS jumbo eye pencil. i use the white one seeing as it looks similar t the nyx's milk pencil but less creamier :) maybe u have oily lids and need an oil free primer?

Use the Mary Kay eye primer it's just $12 dlls and its amazing I have oily lids and this primer helps me a lot,it last all day :)
