Makeup artists, how do you sanitize/clean brushes in between back to back clients.
Obviously, I want to be hygenic, but I also want to remove the color left on the brush from the previous client. (ex: Blue eyshadow on first client, but doing a brown smoky eye on the second)
I don't want to get the brushes too wet because that makes for sucky blending, at least for me.

When I do the makeup at my school for productions, and it's back to back, I use the door backstage brush cleaner. The alcohol makes it dry really fast if you rub off any pigment onto a tissue. Sorry, I'm not a professional but I thought this might help :)

Thanks Emma! That was very helpful. I'm assuming you meant the Dior backstage brush cleaner. It looks a little pricy for me but I'll look into it.

@Alma. I'd love to have multiple brushes but that's just not in the cards financially for me right now, especially since I'm just starting out. What kind of brush cleaner spray do you use? Does that leave the brushes damp?

What brushes do you use? The spray is Essence of Beauty brush cleaner and it dries quickly but I make sure I have that timed right before a new face hits the brush if needed. I use the extra set mostly.

A tip I like to share is finding a whole sale cosmetics store in your area and by your brushes there just to help you as a starter set for building your kit.

The brush set I use on others is from BH Cosmetics.

All you really need to do is just keep a brush cleaning spray and a napkin or towel near by, sparay the towel (never directly on the brush) and rub the brushes you used in it between clients.Untill your in the pisition to buy multiple brushes. I just found it easier to invest in a good brush cleaner than low quality brush sets.
