You could try exfoliating and using a moisturizer if you don't already.

I steam my face and soak a towel in warm water and rub that all over my facr. I know it sounds harsh but its the only way my dry flajes disappear. I tries coconut oil masks, olive oil masks, cetaphil moisturzers, st.ives apricot scrubs, and they don't work to get rid of all my dry patches. After I do that, I moisturize with one thick layer of refrigerated aloe vera gel and let it dry. Once its dry, I go over it with like 4 layers of my cetaphil moisturizer. Once or twice a week of this helps A LOT.

This happens to me sometimes as well. This is what I do.

1. Exfoliate, not to hard, don't want to treat the skin to roughly
2. Moisturize with a good hydrating moisturizer
3. Use a primer so the moisture is sealed in.

Also, do you use a liquid foundation or a powder foundation?

Exfoliate, moisturize, use a primer, and use liquid foundation :)

It's your foundation that's the problem not your skin. Long lasting foundations especially dry up even where there aren't dry patches. Whether its powder or liquid makes no difference. I've used both and used a high end liquid foundation that dried up vs a powder one the looks absolutely fabulous even though so many people claim 'powders dry up your skin.' Which foundation are you using?

Drink more water, skin need to be hydrated from the inside out no matter how much primer you use. Also mixing your moisturizer with a beauty oil should help especially during the winter season when skin starts to dry out.
