I heard good things about using Coconut oil as a face moisterizer for dry skin. I wanna try it , but do you think it'll cause me to breakout?!

I've heard MANY good things about coconut oil. I'm sure it'd be fine, I'm dying to get some!!

I used it only in my body but not my face, because it is oily and I have acne... I consider my body skin normal but you should know you will feel your skin VERY, VERY mosturized! I made a mix with coconut oil, almond oil and raw sugar. It feels amazing and smells so good! But be careful to not slip in the shower!

I absolutely love coconut oil! I use it in my hair about once a week. I put it all over and then sleep in a shower cap and wash it out the next morning. My hair has been so soft and shinny since I started doing it. It's helped my split ends and broken hair tremendously! I've never tried putting it on my face though. I'm very acne prone so I'd be scared that it would clog my pores!

No. Natural oils don't do that.

Try it every other day before you decide to use it daily. I think olive oil would be better for the face than coconut honestly.

It broke me out, so I would be careful, but every skin type is different.

I have used virgin coconut oil as a face moisturizer before because I was allergic to something I was using and was trying to eliminate products to find the culprit (turned out to be benzyol peroxide and sacylic acid, both used in acne fighting face wash). It did moisturize well, but it felt really oily and it possibly didn't help my acne, which I was trying to keep under control. I was having a long and severe breakout that statred before I used the oil, so I'm not sure if it was my hormones or the oil that kept my breakout going for so long. I've heard that coconut oil has anti bacterial properties, and some people have reported their acne improving since using it. Anyway, I don't use it anymore on my face(I use Jergens gradual tanning moisturizer and it works great and doesn't break me out), but I love coconut oil on my hands and body! After a while of using it on my hands, my hands felt hydrated on a regular basis and I found I don't have to use it as often as normal lotions. I attribute this to the alcohol in lotions that can be drying to your skin.
I also use it as an overnight hair mask, and wash it out in the morning using warm, not hot, water. I love it!

It's wonderful when used alternatively with a lotion. I'm partial to sweet almond oil for facial moisturizing these days because it hydrates beautifully. I use coconut oil to make my own body scrub and it's an inexpensive way to keep soft and exfoliated.
