Yeah if you build up clientele you should make more. try making cards to give out and offer to do girls makeup for homecoming in your area for like $35/40.

How much are you charging? have a look online, type in "formal makeup artist" or "bridal makeup artist" and have a look at their websites and see what they're charging, I don't know what prices are like where you're from, but I've paid up to $80 for hair and makeup before, and some people charge over 100

My sister is a free lancer and she charges $75. She's always charged that much even when she first started out. She's been a makeup artist for 6 years and she just barely made business cards about a year ago and since then her cliental has expanded also she built a lot of cliental by putting her makeup on Facebook and Instagram. She's now doing a makeup for 3 reality tv shows and she's still free lancing.
