Am I the only one who feels as though when I'm wearing too many shimmery shadows my eye makeup looks sloppy...

Both! I love deep shimmery jewel tones in fall.
I agree about wearing too much at once. I'll usually only wear one shimmery shadow at a time, and the rest of them will be matte.

Shimmer is always pretty on anyone but I like my color to have super high impact so I tend to go for mattes :D but add in a bit of shimmer for a highlight along the tear duct and browbone! it always adds a nice touch xx

I'm going to be a bit opposite here and would actually say I probably prefer shimmer in the fall, and matte in the summer! :O In the summer I think matte looks more natural and I don't want to put anymore shine on my face. During the colder months I think shimmer adds a little radiance back.
