No don't go a shade darker...it will totally show and you want to be natural...go to a store with testers and use the back of your arm to get the best match for your skin tone.

Do not go a shade darker unless you plan to bronze your neck. I would keep your true color and try to keep it light and natural. Use blush, bronzer if you feel pale.

No! I'm very pale too, don't go a shade darker. You would have to cover your neck, ears, hairline...do you see what I mean? Unless it's for theatrical purposes it will show. Embrace your porcelain complexion. If you must, you could always use a bronzer, a very light one with a gentle hand, and add a bit of color and glow to your skin.
