My lips get dry, dark, sticky very often, I don't know what's causing them it happens even when I'm home without makeup, when I'm wearing only a lip balm. I have changed many lip balms to try and see which ones suits me but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Its really embarrasing because when I go out, after a few hours the lipstick goes off and my lips look dark and get sticky. I drink water adequetly and scrub and moisturize my lips but once the balm is off it gets so annoying.

Maybe your a mouth breather?? if you have allergies or are sick often that can happen...or if its windy or cold where you are at.

No Noriyuki, I am not a mouth breather but yes I do have allergies as in pollen and perfumes and dust but how does that affect my lips? :(

I'm telling you...you may think your breathing completely thru your nose but a lot of times...actually the majority of time if you have allergies your going to be breathing sometimes thru your mouth...I speak from experience. for some reason I find that ppl with allergies need to stay more hydrated than normal.

What color do you mean by "dark?" it could be that you are cold or if you consume dark drinks or food? depending on the color it could just be poor circulation in your lips so try to "exercise" them so to speak and maybe that will bring the color back?

Diana, it just literally gets dark like black color starts off at the corner of my mouth and towards the center. and its sticky I drink lots of water, I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I have tried almond oil, lemon scrub but it doesn't go. its like a discoloration on the top layer. funny things is sometimes it looks perfectly fine, no darkness or dehydration. its so confusing

I would see a doctor, you may have a circulatory issue. That discoloration isn't normal.

Sticky and dark? I don't know girly I would get that checked. maybe an infection or something.
