I think you have to have them professionally extracted but not sure. It depends on how large they are how much they bother you. Exfoliating won't work.
I think prevention is better than cure, so dermatologists suggest not using heavy cream around the eye area and always to make sure the pores around that area are clean and clear - so no heavy make-up left behind either. These bumps occur as the pores get clogged and it then creates a solid bump. It's full of keratin which is hard, not like a normal spot, which is why you can't puncture it and squeeze it out. LOL!
Look up millia and extraction. There may be a way to do it at home but I'm not sure so wouldn't like to advise. Good luck.

Try using a glycolic wash stick with a low percentage if you're in your teen like 6%, you can go higher like 10% if your older. You'll want to start off using the wash every other morning the 1st week as it can be drying to the skin, the 2nd week use every morning and by the 3rd week use twice a day. Any dryness you experience is normal, you a shedding dead skin cells and you want to work through that phase, just use a hydrating serum along with the glycolic. Do not try to extract the milia at home, I'm an esthetician, you can damage you skin. As with any extractions you skin needs to be prepped properly and with milia we usually have to use a lancet to create a way for the milia to come out. Sarah was correct in saying have it professionally extracted. Sometimes the right skin care products will do the trick. As she mentioned, no heavy products and also a mild exfoliant can help such as Dermalogica's daily microfoliant, which you can find at Ulta. Definitely do not use St. I've's Apricot Scrub it's too harsh for the face.

*the right home care products can get rid of it, then you won't need the extractions
