Using a ceramic flat iron is less damaging. Be sure it's 100% ceramic. so you don't waste your money.

Flat irons damage, so does shampoo, blow dryer. I've seen girls break their hair by flat ironing even with protectant. Limit it as much a possible.

Hey I've damaged my hair a lot in the past due to straightener addiction. Now I only straighten once or twice max a week and have invested in good hair are products (Redken Extreme range). I have also just purchased a 100% tourmaline plates straightener to minimise damage as damage is inevitable just need to minimize is with good hair products and straighten less using a good straightener xxx

I also agreed that these stuff damage hair, but to look good is necessary as well. So, while choosing hair straightener make sure it contains ceramic or titanium plates because these are less harmful for hair in fact these plates safe your hair from burning.
