I have fairly bad acne, and oily skin and I've heard great reviews about the clarisonic Mia 2 face brush, is it worth all the money to buy one? Also it said you will break out for the first couple weeks, is it bad? Here's a picture of but I have makeup on.

I was diagnosed with severe acne vulgaris last year (it was awful) and my dermatologist told me NOT to buy any kind of exfoliating products such as this one because it can irritate the skin even more and eventually cause more acne and deeper scarring. He told me to drink wayyyyy more water and to wash with cerave twice everyday and it has helped me so much! My skin is close to perfect on good days now :) I wouldn't suggest it, but we may have different skin reactions to products.

Like my mom has one and she really likes it. But she cleans it every night to make sure it doesn't store bacteria which she thinks is a pain in the butt ;)

My face is exactly like yours! oily and few acne spots, I recommend you NOT at all to buy the clarisonic mia 2 at all, trust me, hear it from someone who brought a clarisonic and actually witness it. Made my face a lot worse than ever, for 4 month I been using the clarisonic, nothing but wore came to my face, more acne then ever!, so I talked to a dermatologist and really nothing works but drink a lot of water and with a slice of lemon in it, trust me that works a lot better then ever, I've seen changes on my face also. Hope this help (:

Although it's not for everyone have you ever thought about going on the contraceptive pill? I did this when I was 17 and my skin cleared up slowly over a period of about 3 months and I never got bad spots again. I was on it for 4 years and when I came off it when I was 21 my acne had gone. Sometimes you can have too many androgens which is a hormone that increases the level of sebum (or oiliness in your skin). Then it makes it more prone to blemishes. It was called Dianette. If you can't see a dermo, perhaps you could see a regular doctor and discuss this line of treatment as an option. I tried everything, antibiotics, all the skin care products out there but my issue in the end was a hormone imbalance. I also used Retin A at the same time with great success - it's pharma name is tretinoic acid. It is amazing stuff but you must be careful in the sun when you are using and for some time after. This treatment plan changed my life.
