Hey everyone I was just wondering what is the best way to clean your makeup brushes? I use a variety of things, it varies. I heard dish soap is good because it cuts grease and I was wondering if I should invest in some brush cleaner by MAC or something. Thanks! :)

well I have a brush cleaner from Inglot, not exactly cheap & it doesn't help much. I use the clear shampoo(Panteen) with water, because it's are for oily hair it cleans pretty well.

For daily cleaning the japonesque cleaner is amazing find it at ulta and smells like oranges for shampooing use something that is antibacterial and doesn't have a lot of ingredients like parabens or alcohol because these all damage the bristles baby shampoo is good because it's made to be gentle just make sure u rinse very well because it can leave a residue on the bristles which can lead to damage as well

Cinema secrets cleanser is amazing. It's affordable for a rather large bottle, leaves your brushes incredibly soft, and dries fast. Smells pretty good too.

dial anti bacterial hand soap works wonders. the makeup slides right off my brushes. even in my elf powder brush (flat top) and the foundation usually get stuck deep inside the brush but this soap gets it all out!

I've used liquid hand soap and the last bits of shampoos I don't use any more but I plan on using Dr. Bronner's and baby shampoo- as well as others because I don't want to potentially damage my brushes.

I use the Japonesque one for my daily cleaning and once a week I deep clean with Dr. Bronner's liquid Castile soap (usually the peppermint one). I swear by both of them and as a bonus, they are very reasonably priced.

Definitely add some kind of oil to your soap for natural bristles or you'll strip them eventually and that's not going to be good. And dry them bristle side down in a cup so the water seeps down and out of the bristles and not into the base. After a while the water will break down the glue that holds the metal into the handle. You can always reattach it with glue but it's better to get all the water out of the bristles anyway :)

Yeah anything that is unscented is good to clean your brushes with, i also add a little bit of olive oil when cleaning my brushes to keep them feeling super soft. Also i always use cold water as hot water sometimes ruins the glue on your brushes.
